Beautiful views in a beautiful unit. You will love the remodeled kitchen and bath. Upgraded granite kitchen and cabinetry. Take time to relax with your morning coffee as the whales swim by. Amazing unit at amazing resort. Enjoy your Lanai throughout the day including into sunset as it is protected from the wind and direct sun. This air-conditioned unit features a cal-king bed in the bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa and TV in the living room. Amazing property with fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. Close to it all, whale watching, snorkeling, scuba, hiking, biking, surfing, paddle boarding, and dining. The resort is one of the finest on Maui. Amenities include Heated pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, putting green onsite property manager, onsite restaurant/bar, and activities desk. Barbeque facilities and putting greens also on site. Want a quick night cocktail or dinner? The on-site boutique restaurant is a great place to relax after a day soaking up rays. On-site activity desk is ready to schedule your every desire while on your trip. Although Luau's are recommended to be booked prior to travel.

Nearby the Maui Ocean center and all that Maalaea has to offer is just a 4 mile drive. This Kihei location is also close to all Kihei, Wailea and Makena have to offer. One of the few beachfront condos in South Maui. Less than 20 minutes to the airport.

The unit is well stocked with kitchen ware and appliances, we also provide:
- beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, sorry no snorkeling gear,
- a toiletries starter kit sufficient for short stay,
- a starter kit of laundry soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, and kitchen cleaning supplies,
- drip coffeemaker and some coffee to get the trip started
- linens, towels, etc.

Kihei is a great area and Sugar Beach leaves you in a really good location for venturing around the island: south Kihei/Wailea, the west side, Ma’alaea, Wailuku/Kahului, the north shore- all easily traveled to from this area. The location is also great for whale watching in the winter months. Pool and common areas were nice, and do check out SBBS and their malasadas just down the road.A few things about this rental- not a huge fan of the paltry amount of toilet paper and toiletries in general. “Starter pack” is silly and kinda greedy, even if it’s become more prevalent with these rentals. Also, as somebody else mentioned, the view is partially obstructed due to a fairly unnecessary large planting right in front of the unit (not shown in the listing). Finally, describing this unit as “beautifully upgraded” is diabolical. It is older and a bit tired, too few electrical outlets, walls were dirty, appliances super old with the ice maker in the freezer not functional. It was a totally adequate unit and hit the right notes for location and ease of use, and was pretty fairly priced. But in hindsight I find the listing to be somewhat dishonest. Not saying we wouldn’t stay there again, but be warned.

Good stay, comfortable bed

Other reviews talk about a spectacular sunset from the lanai and we didn't realize the sunset is mostly blocked. The unit needs a paint job/walls need a clean. The beach is super windy and water was rough infront. Snorkeling wasn't really possible. There was only one roll of toilet paper (we had to buy more). But the bed was extremely comfortable and the bakery close to it was amazing. Beach front was great.

Paradise vacation

Clean and comfortable ocean front property that was well maintained. The sheets were so soft! The view was beautiful and Sugar Beach Resort is a great quiet property. We had one toilet issue that property management had someone out to work on it in less than 2 hours.

First time staying in Kihei. Easy to figure out directions. Liked closeness to Airport. A rental car is necessary! Locals friendly! Our buggest complaint is at check in desk unfriendly and not helpful at all. Also,not ever being able to reach anyone by phone when issues came up. Not even able to leave a message.was frustrating.

Great Location Amazing View

We really enjoyed staying on sugar beach. The condo had amazing views, pool was nice, beach was close. The building was older but clean and the kitchen had all the things we needed to be comfortable. Unfortunately it was midge season. Millions of dead bugs but the property manager brought us a bug zapper and they were easy to clean up.

Would have easily rated 5-Star, but we had ants in the condo. We even cleaned the entire condo making sure no food or anything was around. It seems like one of the locked cabinets may have had something they like, since we kept seeing them around there.

Delightful!

We have stayed at Sugar Beach many times in various units over the last couple of decades. This unit is indeed very nice and a good value. We did notice some maintenance issues and we brought them up to Melissa at the office. Melissa was appreciative and so attentive. I must say, she was a joy to speak with and she was very helpful in many ways during our stay. She took care of our concerns and questions immediately. We would rent this unit again.

Very good non commercial beach location.

The condo was clean. Kitchen is adequately maintained. Spectacular view from the balcony. Could use new glass top stove for easier cleaning. More dishes would help. Sliding glass door is heavy to open and close, needs new rollers. Screen does not close well. Pretty good small appliances. TV is small and has very slow cable to change channels. The building itself needs fresh paint and flooring is bit old. Though, flowering plants and greens are well maintained. Good beach for walking. Did not use pool, but looks good. Lawn chairs are nice.
