The unit did not meet the standards we have come to expect at the Kīhei Akahi. We have been vacationing here for years and stayed in a number of different units. Very disappointing.

We loved our stay here! The view was wonderful, better than I thought it would be. The condo is a little run down but everything that mattered was perfect: new cookware, great kitchen appliances, comfy bed, etc. The only upgrade I would've liked is a wall/ceiling air conditioner instead of a window model. But it worked well enough to cool the living room and the ceiling fans helped a lot. I've stayed in many Kihei condos, usually for a lot more money - so this place was a great value for the money!!

Overall I would stay here again. Beach chairs, and umbrella was an excellent addition! The bedroom gets a little warm but it was tolerable.BBQ’s at the pool were awesome! Even had big tables and a fridge to use while you grilled.Only real bad thing was one night we swam late at the pool. When we went back to the condo about 7:45pm and the door code stopped working, we couldn’t get inside. Luckily I had my phone to call after hours assistance or we would have been panicking. They had to reset the code for us. But overall the view is fantastic and I would stay again!

Home away from home

Property was exactly as listed. Close to most amenities. This condo could certainly use some updating but all in all a great place to stay. All my requests like extra bed sheets and tea towels were brought to me in a timely manner. The view from the lanai was definitely the best feature of this condo and I would absolutely stay here again.

Little piece of paradise

The Akahi is the perfect location in Kehei. Walking distance to lovely shops and restaurants. The Kam 2 beach just a few steps away. We particularly loved this condo for the view from the lanai. This unit was perfect for us. Clean, stocked, great beach amenities to use. Would 10/10 recommend staying here. We hope to be back.

Excellent location in a very pleasant environment

The condo looks exactly as described! It is located at the best part of Kihei, in a very quiet and idilic backyard full of exotic birds which makes you feel great, but close enough to all amenities, stores and shops. View from the balcony is exactly the same how you see it here in the pictures, and it was a great pleasure to have a breakfast or evening drink out at the balcony, or be there any time of the day. 6th floor is highest in this condo complex and it feels great, you’ll even see the sunset. Space is adequate for two people, or if you are here with the family, pls note that living room is fully detached from the bedroom on different sides of the condo - living room towards the balcony and bedroom towards the hallway on the back, with bathroom and washer and drier area in between. There are couple of small things which could be improved, overall condo would benefit from some upgrades, however we thoroughly enjoyed it the way how it is right now, knowing that upgrades would yield higher price. Another thing important to some people which didn’t bother us at all was that there was no an air conditioning unit in the bedroom, only in the living room area, however owner provided a big fan which is very sufficient. We didn’t actually turn on air conditioning unit at all and had enough breeze only with ceiling fans. We are in a beautiful area with amazing climate, why do we need to change that? We have enough cool days in Canada anyway when we get back home!

New VRBO

We understood that this Kihei Akahi condo was an new VRBO listing when we booked. We love the location and the Kihei Akahi complex. It is close to the beaches and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The condo was clean and the king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate but do not expect anything other than one small bar of hotel soap, shampoo and conditioner. The kitchen was minimally fitted with older pots and pans and utensils. You must use plastic glasses and plates to take food and drinks to the pool area where the bbqs are and this condo only has a few old plastic plates and two big plastic glasses. Do not expect to find any welcoming starter coffee or tea. There were coffee filters. There was no salt and pepper and only a wee half full bottle of dish soap. The living room has a nice big TV but the couch and chair are not comfortable and need to be cleaned, especially the couch pillows. There is a cooler with ice packs, beach chairs and umbrella as well as beach towels. We had one night where the empty condo beside us had a very loud alarm going for hours. It took many calls from us and the neighbor beside us to have someone attend to it. Luckily someone finally came and we were able to sleep. There was unusual amounts of rain when we were there and because the deck is not sloped properly we had a lot of water seeping from the deck into the living room and then eventually into

Expected better for the price we paid

Kichen & bathroom are very outdated & kitchen literally falling apart, was very unclean and lacking prep and cooking dishes. Bugs on counters everywhere. Floors were filthy as our feet were black after walking a few min. Appliances outdated and dishwasher & garburator sounded very loud and worn out. Washer & dryer very old and washer made my clothes smell bad. Laundry closet gross. Bed linens had black marks on them. Very disappointed with this condo.
