This property has views directly of the ocean. The shoreline is rocky but we could watch turtles swim, snorkelers, and canoe teams row. There are two great beaches (Kamaole I & II) on either side of the property, no more than 5 minutes door to beach. Kamaole Beach III is just on the other side of "II" and is about 10 minutes walk; we boogie boarded at "III". We liked staying in Kihei because it seemed central to the day trips we took to Kaanapali, Wailea, Hana, and Haleakala; and also for the abundance of good restaurants and shops nearby. This unit does not have AC, and on the first night it was stuffy even with the sliding doors open to the lanai, but after that the air circulated from the ocean breeze and it was comfortable. There were either ceiling fans or stand up fans in each bedroom which also helped. The kitchen was great, and the living room and lanai were spacious and comfortable. For check in, we did have to drive a few (?) miles away to submit a form. If we didn't have a rental car that would have been a little more difficult. But the office is close to Maui Brewing Co, so that was a convenient side trip too. We went right after the pre-testing rules had changed July 8, so there was some confusion about what was really required. It all worked out, and we loved our stay. Aloha!
