Thanksgiving Stay
Our stay started well but ended with unnecessary stress and inhumane accusations. I mistakenly booked two nights instead of three and, on the day of checkout, took my kids to Garner State Park, leaving my 75-year-old mother at the cabin due to the cold. With no cell service, I missed the host’s calls to vacate. On our way back, I received a call from the sheriff’s office asking me to contact my mother immediately. Initially, I thought she had panicked, but it turned out the host had reported me, suspecting I abandoned her.
