Sturgeon Lake Cottage

Relax with the whole family & friends at this peaceful place to stay in the “Jewel of the Kawarthas”. A wonderful waterfront cottage with great lake view. The cottage is four season with cable tv, and Internet. Swimming and fishing are available in summer. It is about 1.5 hours away from Toronto.

This property offers the best of both worlds -situated in the free-flowing area at the mouth of the lake and short distance to downtown to local restaurants, brewery, bars, Sobeys, LCBO, Tim Hortons.
The space
3 Bedrooms in Main Level: all of them with comfortable mattresses, soft pillows, and warm covers to provide you with amazing nights of sleep.

Great room: A Stunning living Room features a cozy wood fireplace with a great view to the lake, and a direct walk out to a tiered Deck, and 2 large comfortable couches.

Additionally, there is a wood-burning fireplace, ensuring warmth and coziness during chillier evenings.

1 Bathroom: Main Level, 4 pc (sink, toilet, shower and a jacuzzi)

Basement:
A full finished basement featuring another tv room, two Futon beds (sleep 1 each) as well as a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

A Large sun filled kitchen with an Eat In area & overlooks the lake, includes all necessary appliances, a toaster, microwave, coffee machine, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and a variety of cups and glasses. Dining table seats up to 8.

A rare wet slip boathouse, the second level observation deck on the boathouse presents spectacular lake views & sunrise/sunsets and provides you with over 490 Sq feet of space to sit and relax. BBQ is not allowed on the second level observation deck on the boathouse!

Two Pelican Kayaks with paddles and 3 life jackets XL, L and medium) for you to enjoy kayaking. Please make sure to park them in the boathouse after you finish.

Whether you want to relax on the massive deck and enjoy the view, fish off the dock, swim, snuggle up in front of the fireplace or walk to town for shopping, restaurants and events, there is lots to do on property and in Fenelon Falls.

Indoor entertainment: Wi-Fi throughout, 2 TVs , one in the great room and one in the basement, to access Netflix, Amazon Prime and any other streaming services. Wi-Fi: Internet source: fiber optics, Quality of service: good, Unlimited.

You will have exclusive access to the entire property, both indoors and outdoors. You can fully enjoy all the amenities and spaces available to you, allowing for a seamless and comfortable experience throughout your visit. Whether you're looking to relax indoors or explore the outdoor surroundings, the entire property is yours to enjoy and make the most of during your stay.
This area is very famous for fishing, boating, and hiking, so, if you love outdoor activities, this is definitely a great option for you.

Rates are based on 6 guests. Maximum 8 guests are allowed. Children under 1 year of age are free.

10% discount will be applied to weekly bookings.

No Pet is allowed.

One security camera is installed outside on the south east corner of the cottage. It is compliance with Vrbo policy (for more details, pls. refre to Vrbo Official Policy Page)

Other things to note:

🗑️Garbage & Recycling
All garbage and recycling disposal is the responsibility of the guest.

You must take all garbage and recycling with you upon departure. Do not leave any behind.

Place garbage in sealed bags and recycling in boxes, stored securely so animals cannot access them.

If you have difficulty removing garbage, please notify the host immediately so we can work out a resolution.

The location and information for the local garbage dump will be provided after your reservation is confirmed.

🚰 Water, Plumbing & Septic System
Strict rules apply to our septic system. Violations may cause thousands of dollars in damage.
The septic tank is located right beside the cottage, at the end of the driveway on the south side. Driving or parking over it is strictly prohibited. Please ensure that all cars and boats are parked in the driveway at the front of the cottage.

Only human waste and toilet paper may be flushed.

Do not flush: feminine products, tampons, pads, diapers, baby wipes, or any wipes (even "flushable").

Do not put any solid waste, food scraps, or grease down sink drains.

Use water mindfully — the cottage has a holding tank. Overuse or leaving taps running can damage the water pump.

🔥 Fires (Campfires & Fireplace)
Campfires:

Small campfires are permitted only as allowed by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

You must check for and adhere to local fire bans (especially during dry/fire season).

Do not burn plastic, tin cans, glass, or any prohibited items.

Always drown your fire completely with water before leaving it unattended, especially before bed.

Wood-Burning Fireplace:

Due to insurance requirements, guests are not permitted to use the wood-burning fireplace unless you have prior experience and approval from the host.

🚭 Smoking
No smoking of any kind inside the cottage.

Smoking is allowed outside only, with the exterior door fully closed.

👥 Guests, Visitors & Behavior
No unauthorized visitors or guests outside those listed on the reservation are allowed on the property without prior host approval.

This property is for families, couples, and respectful small groups only.

No parties, events, or large gatherings are permitted at any time.

Maximum occupancy must be respected at all times.

If house rules are broken (parties, unregistered guests, excessive noise), may cause cancelation of the booking will be canceled immediately without refund.

🔇 Noise & Quiet Hours
This is a quiet area. Municipal by-law enforcement and local police may respond to noise complaints.

Amplified noise (stereos, speakers): prohibited from 10 PM to 9 AM.

Yelling, shouting, or playing musical instruments: prohibited from 9 PM to 7 AM.

Persistent pet noise (e.g., dog barking): prohibited at all times.

🧹 Checkout & Cleaning
To help keep our cleaning fee low, please leave the cottage relatively clean and tidy.

Wash all dishes and pots before departure.

Leave washrooms, kitchen, and all areas reasonably clean.

Towels and linens are for sleeping and drying clean hands/bodies only.

Ensure all exterior doors and windows are closed and locked.

Return key to lockbox.

Lock the entrance door and the sliding deck door.

Put kayaks back inside the boathouse.

⚠️ Penalties
Lost keys: $100 (rekeying fee)

Late checkout without host consent: $500
