One staff member (David) came by to check that everything was alright with our room and then offered to make a fire in our veranda grill stove while we went out to buy meat for dinner. "The rooms themselves were great and the breakfast was delicious. However, there is a shared kitchen which is available to prepare any other meals…it is not in good condition at all and needs some serious TLC if the space is to be offered for guest use. For example the oven is FILTHY, the sink is perpetually full of used, dirty dishes and cutlery/crockery/glasses/cookware all need to be upgraded/replaced. I think the shared space is a great idea, but it has to be drastically improved to reflect...

"I really enjoy the Lodge. Perfect for Self catering and they really pay attention to the little details. Home made delicious biscuits every night, setting up the fire and making sure the chalet is warm for your return. "What a nightmare after arriving tired from travelling more tha a 1000kms to walk into a very dusty,dirty and neglected room. It is not anything close to what was advertised on the internet. It is a shame to pay R970 for this shocking place. As far as we observed the situation i do not understand how it can even be rated as a 5 star on certain websites and others as a 3 star. Torn towels,dirty bedding and sleeper coach as well as second hand-used soap in the bathroom."
