"Beautiful room in a lovely hotel. Staff were attentive and friendly. Extra touches in the room like homemade biscuits and a little decanter of port were thoughtful and much appreciated. Really nice finishes in room and bathroom. Comfy bed and a fantastic fan for warm nights! Definitely recommend a drink in the courtyard. We'll definitely be back."

"Room was nice but lacked the small things like shower cap, comb and even towels! Room phones are OLD and don’t call down to reception which was annoying! No room service except sandwich which is poor. You could but 3 in Tesco for the same price"

"The rooms were fine, but it’s more a bar and nightclub than a boutique hotel. After making the booking they sent a message informing us about the late night music which was not advertised in the description. I asked to cancel but they refused, and said they would allocate a quiet room instead. When we arrived they had downgraded the room type (no bath included as promised) and did not offer to alter the price."

"Beautiful, historic building, with lovely, tastefully decorated rooms. The staff were very helpful. Good breakfast was included in the room price. We were there during a heatwave and the room stayed uncomfortably warm all night, but I do not fault the hotel for this. Would definitely stay again, though perhaps not in midsummer. 😄"

"Great staff and customer service, rooms nice and clean but air con was not brilliant and the sinks in the room would not put out cold water for more than 5 seconds and kept flowing extremely hot. Apart from that it was a nice stay"

"The room we stayed in was just right size and comfy, with fast Wi-Fi and everything we need. The bathroom was okay, but the shower area only had a curtain to keep things in, which wasn’t the best. The breakfast was great, with lots of hot food to choose from, and you could even order from the kitchen. The cleaning could use a bit more work, though—there were visible stains on the toilet and heavy stains on the tea kettle."

The properties behind the hotel, which our room faced, were being renovated so I imagine that could be noisy if staying during the week but we were there at weekend and it was surprisingly silent. "The carpets in the inn were filthy when walking up to the rooms! The beds were super squeaky and the room got super warm at night. We asked for a fan and were given one that doesn't work. Sleeping was almost impossible for me. The en suite bathroom we had in the double room did not only not have a latch, but the door also somehow swung and was overall very inconvenient - not ideal if you're travelling with someone who's not your partner. The staff was probably the best part - super friendly and...
