  • La casa de campo tiene capacidad para 4 personas en este entorno mágico con uso exclusivo de la zona de la piscina. .

    Los terrenos están situados en 8 hectáreas en el Parque Natural altamente protegido dando privacidad y paz. Hay excelentes vistas vírgenes de las sierras y el valle del río que es el único río virgen de Andalucía.

    La casa es de planta abierta con techos altos abovedados y es moderna y luminosa. Hay 2 terrazas, una de las cuales está cubierta con cómodos asientos y una zona de comedor. Hay un dormitorio principal con baño independiente. La sala de estar es de planta abierta que tiene un dormitorio entresuelo que es de nuevo de planta abierta. La zona de estar de planta abierta tiene una cocina totalmente equipada y zona de comedor, así como una cómoda zona de estar y con un techo alto da una maravillosa sensación de espacio. Hay WiFi en toda la casa de campo, así como SKy TV, DVD y un sistema de sonido

    La zona de la piscina y la pista de tenis es un lugar ideal para relajarse en las tumbonas o hamacas o jugar al bádminton o al tenis de mesa. Hay asientos para 12 personas para comer y una barbacoa. Hay neveras para las bebidas y una pequeña cocina para la barbacoa. También hay WiFi en la piscina. Por la noche la piscina puede ser iluminada, así como las románticas luces de hadas en los árboles que rodean la zona.
    Todo el equipo deportivo se proporciona, así como toallas de playa. La piscina es de 11 x 6 metros y la pista de tenis es de hierba con algunos rebotes imprevisibles.

    Alrededor de la Finca hay unas vistas increíbles de las Sierras y de las impresionantes puestas de sol que se asoman a los olivos encaramados en lo alto de las sierras. Por la noche es un paraíso para los observadores de estrellas y con poca contaminación lumínica la vía láctea ilumina el cielo. La finca está situada en el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales y tiene zonas de bosque con olivos silvestres y alcornoques de la familia de los robles. Hay una puerta que lleva al río, donde hay paseos que van desde los suaves paseos hasta la exploración de los impresionantes paisajes. A 100 metros de la casa hay estupendas zonas de baño en las pozas del río con vistas al Caslte Moro de Jimena. En mayo y junio el río es un jardín de Oleanda Rosa y en estos meses brotan fantásticas flores silvestres.
    Es poco probable que no vea las águilas y muchas aves diferentes que frecuentan el Parque Natural, así como los muchos animales diferentes que viven junto a nosotros en este hábitat protegido.

    La finca es muy privada, pero sólo 5 minutos en coche o 15 minutos a pie de Jimena que tiene muchos restaurantes y bares donde se puede degustar la cocina local de jamón ibérico a los frutos del mar del Mediterráneo. Hay supermercados y bancos, así como un centro médico por si acaso, pero muchas de las pequeñas tiendas venden las frutas y verduras cultivadas por los lugareños en sus huertos. En mayo hay un festival que marca la historia andaluza con caballos. En julio hay un festival de música con flamenco y músicas del mundo y a mediados de agosto se celebra la Feria de Verano que dura 3 días.

    Durante su estancia hay un miembro del personal, José Luis, que se asegurará de que la piscina y los jardines se mantienen, así como la limpieza de las terrazas.
    Naturalmente será discreto y se adaptará a sus deseos.

Fantastic stay in amazing location

We had a lovely 10 day stay at Duncan’s cottage. The kids loved it. The pool is perfect; it was too hot to do much else. The little town nearby is great with all the shops and restaurants you’ll need. The cottage itself is great and has everything you need and Duncan is a perfect host.

We had a wonderful stay here – the perfect slice of real Spain, off the beaten track. The property offered complete privacy, with a beautiful pool area that quickly became the heart of our holiday. Swimming while eagles soared overhead was unforgettable, and evenings were just as magical – watching swallows dart into their nests, enjoying spectacular sunsets, and later, stargazing under skies filled with stars.Our hosts made the stay even more special. Duncan gave us a warm welcome, complete with a thoughtful hamper on arrival, while José kept the pool immaculate and shared helpful local knowledge. The nearby town was very friendly, and the local supermarket had everything we needed for our stay.This is a place for nature lovers and anyone wanting to slow down and enjoy authentic Andalusian life. Highly recommended!

A blissful, comfortable retreat; perfect pool

  A perfectly appointed, charming, peaceful, well equipped little cottage (it’s quite cosy for a growing family – you’d better all get on!) with fabulous amenities — even a sharp kitchen knife and a blender — and a kind, respectful and responsive host. The location is good for those wishing to be close to a village yet rural. The village itself makes for a delightful, if hilly!, paseo of an evening through pretty, winding streets and has a few lovely restaurants, but is not very lively in late August and you need to be there after 7-8pm to really get a sense of local life. There are two decent supermarkets but for a big hypermarket you’ll have to travel 45mins+. The castle at the top is the only real landmark there and provides a great view of the landscape. You can’t quite see Africa, but the coastal wind farms are visible. We took a couple of day trips: to Ronda (5*, highly recommended), 1.5hrs away, and to Tarifa (worth it), 1hr 10 mins away. Both made for very pleasant diversions. The pool and tennis court area is not right next the the house but a steep climb up the hill (approx 60m away) which put me off at first but in the end did not matter. If you have small children it may be tricky having to clamber between house and pool for trips to the loo and forgotten sunglasses etc, but with older kids (aged 9-13) whom it was safe to leave in the pool alone, it did not bother us. Also, there is a fridge and a rudimentary kitchen unit up by the pool so we were able to store drinks and snacks up there which significantly reduced the number of trips needed to the house. Top features in my view: * the aircon in bedrooms * the large and perfect-temperature pool * the pool-side fridge * pool-side basic kitchen set up (cupboard with utensils, sink, bin and cups) * BEAUTIFUL handmade poolside dining table * fantastic, handbuilt barbecue * charmingly wonky tennis court and tennis equipment * vastly superior pillows and comfy sofas * excellent WiFi * vultures n eagles soaring overhead * ping pong table * and especially the generous household supplies — plentiful soft towels, loo paper, and even emergency sun cream — including a lovely welcome pack of food and beer left by the host! * Special mention for the nearby river @5mins’ walk, a haven for tiny frogs and kids who like to catch them. ‘Going frogging’ became our go-to afternoon diversion. We were genuinely sorry to leave. Absolutely worth every star!

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus, mit einigen Einschränkungen

Das Haus war sehr schön. Die Ausstattung war sehr gut. Die Lage im Naturpark superschön. Der Vermieter war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die beiden Punkte, die uns nicht gefallen haben, waren, dass der Pool 100m den Berg hoch oberhalb des Hauses war und dass die Elektrik im Haus nicht zuverlässig funktionierte. Das mit dem Pool steht so explizit nicht in der Beschreibung. Wir hatten das Haus nicht gebucht, wenn wir das gewusst hätten. Man muss alles zum Pool hochtragen über den Zuweg hinweg, der auch zum Haus des Besitzers und eines weiteren Hauses führt. Privatsphäre haben wir uns anders vorgestellt. Alle!!! Elektrogeräte waren über nur 4 Sicherungen abgesichert. Wenn die Spülmaschine lief ging nichts anderes. Die Klimaanlagen konnten nicht gleichzeitig laufen, weil sonst die Sicherung raus geflogen wäre. Besonders für die zwei Schlafplätze unterm Dach ist das schwierig, weil es hier besonders heiß ist. Die Sicherung könnte auch nicht einfach wieder eingeschaltet werden, weil der Sicherungskasten heiß wurde.

Great holidays

We had a wonderful time at Jimena de la frontera, not only because it is such an absolutely amazing place for vacation, but also because Duncan as a host was just super nice, helpful and accommodating. The house and the property were exactly as in the advertisement and we lacked nothing. We'd love to come back sometime.

Charmant cottage pour 4 personnes

Tranquillité et détente. Idéal pour une famille sportive, nos enfants ont 11 et 14 et ont profité des installations, piscine, terrain de tennis et table de ping pong. Le cottage a tout le confort nécessaire pour un séjour agréable. Notre hôte Duncan a toujours été disponible .José qui s'occupe de l'entretien a fait preuve de discrétion et d'attentions particulières. Le cottage est dans une zone très calme et en même temps proche du village Jimena de la Frontera. Le terrain sur lequel il est situé est en pente et en paliers donc évitez de venir avec des enfants en bas âge ! Et surtout pensez aux répulsifs à moustiques ! 😅 Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à la hauteur de nos attentes. 100% recommandable !

Wonderful stya

We loved our time in the cottage. Duncan was a superb host and looked after us so well. The welcome hamper was much appreciated as we arrived late. It was everything it said on the website. Walks were beautiful along the river. Steep hill to get to the pool area though!

Location location location

We've stayed 14 days in this beautiful cottage in the middle of nature. A big pool, great views and Duncan is a super friendly host.It is even more beautiful then the pictures. We recommend this accomodation to everybody.

Vacances au cœur d’une réserve naturelle.

Très belle propriété dans un cadre magnifique. Barbecue, piscine, terrain de tennis, tout est là pour rendre le séjour agréable. Voiture obligatoire pour faire le plein du frigidaire.

Breathtaking escape and haven!!!

This was a truly fabulous break away from it all. The facilites, especially the pool and tennis court were brilliant. The river walks on our doorstep were wonderful. We felt perfectly cocooned away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Duncan was a kind and affable host, who made us all feel extremely welcome. A very highly recommended rural retreat for those wishing to escape the stresses of the modern world.

Charming and calm.

Very nice house, well situated near a village but with virtually no neighbour. Nice swimming pool. Perfect to relax and chill. Very nice and helpful host. Highly recommended.

A lovely escape

A great cottage set in beautiful surrounds. Rustic in feel and no AC, but very comfortable and with everything we needed (pool, tennis, walks, wifi, tv, baby cot etc). We had a great stay and Duncan was really helpful throughout.

We had a great time

The house and the landscape are beautiful. Ideal for hiking, enjoying nature and the large pool. You can get away from it all whilst there is also a very good WiFi connection if you want to re-connect. Duncan is a great host and was always available if we had any questions.
