This is an enchanting cottage built in 1948 with all the mechanics of the home replaced and updated with stainless steel appliances,large private fenced in backyard surrounded by a canopy of large trees with an outside deck that has a hot cold shower for total relaxation. Quaint setting on a private street that descends with the st. LUCIE river in view and once owned by a Vietnam vet who started the pennies in the driveway in 1981.With 1150 square feet, this beautifully restored cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths plus 2 pull out queen couches (ultimately sleeping 10)however comfortably 6.A clawfoot tub and separate shower are found in the main bath and the master bath is hidden behind a sliding bookcase. Beamed ceilings, shiplaped walls,brick columns and original hardwood floors throughout along with its nautical accents give way to days gone by of a ship captains home.Property is minutes from the beaches,town center's of historic Jensen or Stuart, and all the great restaurants and bars in between. Fully equipped eat in kitchen adorned by hand painted murals, 60" smart TV with wifi, outside back deck with charcoal grill and a round gazebo for all those memories to take home with. Outside children's play area made in the shape of a pirate ship along with horseshoes, pingpong table,cornhole boards and much more will keep both young and not so young quite entertained. Separate room for full washer and dryer and parking for 3 cars.Many books abound to get lost in, cds of all the classic bands,and over 100 DVD movies for cozy nights. Bedrooms are set up as a split plan,master has a king and is at one end of the cottage, 2and bedroom with a queen, and 3red bedroom with 2 twins is at the other end.All bedrooms have ceiling fans,closets, or hanger hooks with foldout suitcase tables.

Thank you Dennis and Barbara for sharing this house with us. It's the most homey, fun, comfy house we have ever rented on vacation. This house is intentionally designed to encourage family fun. As my son said, "It's the best hide and seek house ever!"We ended up staying "home" more than anticipated and yet were not bored for a second (and we never turned the TV on)!The listing photos don't do it justice. It's very well built and decorated with antiques. The AC was great, the water pressure and temps perfect as well. You could probably walk in with a few changes of clothes and a bathing suit and they have anticipated every little need you could have forgotten. The one thing we'd share is that the king bedroom has a vent directly into the kitchen, so it's not a great room for sleeping in or heading to bed early. A sound machine or two could be helpful to bring now that I'm thinking about it! We purchased a fan so we could sit outside as Florida, quite naturally, has mosquitos. The fan kept them at bay when the tiki bug candles didn't cut it (provided).

If we could give this cottage higher than 5 Stars, we would. It is the most unique place we have ever stayed at. It is finished in Cape Cod fashion with great attention to detail. The backyard has a gazebo, horseshoes, ping pong table, lots of seating and an incredible pirate ship with slide, swings and play area inside the ship and on the deck. Great for kids ready for a pirate adventure! Inside the spacious cottage, you will find it well stocked and equipped with all the conveniences of home. It’s extremely clean with comfortable beds, sofas and chairs. Our host even provided a gift basket from local shops! We highly recommend Pennies From Heaven and will return for another stay.

Great property, filled with so much character. The location is excellent and the house itself is very well maintained, well stocked with all the necessities and has plenty of room for several people. The backyard is great for relaxing and for kids to play. The hosts showed amazing hospitality with great instructions and even provided some much-appreciated sweet treats. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The house is charming, well laid out and comfortable. Also very clean. Back yard is a fjj funland for kids of all ages. Neighborhood is quiet, close to ocean and good restaurants. Hosts were very welcoming and responsive to questions. Many natural areas to hike, bike, or kayak within 30 minutes. Grocery store is close as is a YMCA. One of our best ever experiences and we plan to return next year.

Over the top

The cottage and owners were more than anyone could expect spent. We had everything we needed to spend the time there from toiletries to laundry supplies to spices and all the extras. Owners check in periodically to see that everythineas fine.

This is a quaint and quirky cottage that we loved staying in. Dennis is a super host and then some. He communicated with us about the property and provided everything we could need including treats, snacks, coffee, and tea. The cottage is in excellent condition and very clean. There are amenities galore! You can feel confident booking this fun property for your stay.

Perfection

Everyone in our group loved EVERYTHING about "Pennies from Heaven"! Cleanest VRBO I've ever reserved, by far. Lots of fun, too, with all the scavenger hunt clues. The kitchen had everything we could possibly want, the hosts left us delicious snack foods, all their restaurant recommendations (and the fruit stand) were big hits. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!

Exceeded Expectations

After a lot of back and forth on VRBO I decided to give this listing a try. I am so glad that I did. Read the reviews, pictures can only give you a partial perspective. This house has been meticulously renovated. What an excellent restore. The house is super clean, the backyard was spacious with lots to do. The backyard was not buggy like you might assume. The Hosts were great, they went out of their way to decorate the house for Christmas which saved us a lot of work. The kids loved the house. They had lots of fun with the scavenger hunt. The location is on a quiet block in a relatively quiet neighborhood. I am no stranger to Jensen Beach and would recommend this location to anyone. It's in a very convenient area. Down the block you have the park to play tennis or beachball. Sewall's Point, Stuart, Downtown Jensen Beach all just a few minutes drive. I would definitely stay again. Thank You.

Barbara and Dennis have created such a wonderful experience at the Pennies from Heaven cottage. They are thoughtful and meticulous with our comfort and entertainment in mind. All daily supplies are fully stocked and they even welcome you with home-baked pastries (which are delicious)! For these reasons and many more, my family and I have booked this Vrbo for 3 years in a row to celebrate Thanksgiving. We hope for many more and we’ll be lucky if it’s available!

Surpassed Our Expectations

If I could rate it as 6 Stars, I would. We had an event to attend near Jupiter over the Memorial Day weekend. This place seemed to check all the boxes, as far as location, number of rooms, etc. It looked cute in the photos and was reasonably priced. When we arrived, we were floored. This home has a history and personality like none other. It charmed us from the first moment and only got better and better. The owners truly thought of everything! The inside of the home is incredibly well decorated and laid out for maximum use of everything. The outside - well that was truly a gem. I don't want to give away all the charms of this magnificent - come see it for yourself. You will not be disappointed - in fact, you'll be the family hero for finding such an amazing place!

Spring Break 2023

I can't say enough positive things about this rental! EVERYTHING was perfect!! Communication with the owners was quick, fast and easy. As soon as we walked into the house it was amazing with so much character and it felt like home away from home. The notes they left for us along with the goodie basket in the fridge, made it very warm and welcoming! I give this rental the highest recommendation possible! :)

Second time

Me and my wife returned for a second time to the Cottage. We had such a wonderful experience the first time we couldn't wait to get back. The amazing thing about the second time is it was just as good. The hosts really know how to make you feel at home and go the extra mile on everything. Highly recommended we will be back next year. Hidden Gem

We loved this cottage! It’s not in the typical ‘tourist zone’. But is conveniently located for beaches, restaurants and lots of activities. It is well stocked with lovely back yard and full kitchen. The house is filled with unique features that you have to see appreciate. It was comfortable, a spacious layout- truly a hidden gem!

Idyllic cabin

The cottage alone has weeks of exploration—with hidden treasures around every corner and thoughtful amenities. Cottage was spotless. Host was responsive to all questions and provided detailed guidance about the many opportunities for fun in and around Rio. Best VRBO experience I have had!

Cozy cottage perfect for the family

We were awed with the care for detail that went into this property from the moment we entered the front door. The hosts have thought of everything and made it personal with little notes to help us settle in. The property was clean and very well maintained. The outdoor space was extra great. We brought two young children with us and they played happily for hours on the pirate ship and sand pit. The house is small, but laid out in a way that provided plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay in the area. It is conveniently located and you can see the water at the end of the street!

Charming comfort

Every detail has been anticipated for your stay. From the fridge and pantry to the stock of toiletries and helpful notes, every extra item I could hope for was found. Including a hair dryer for me and a Catboy car for my son! My 3 and 1 year old loved exploring the beautiful backyard with its multiple outdoor dining spaces and pirate ship play set. There were even toys for my kids to enjoy outdoors. The dining table was perfect for our family and easily accommodated some guests for a meal. Notes guided us through the things that required explanation and everything else was obvious or intuitive. This was truly the most comfortable and charming place we have discovered for rental vacation homes. It felt as though we had visited family members who anticipated our stay and set up their home with love and care so that we could enjoy the house while they went elsewhere. We were in awe of the place! The location was ideal for us. We were no more than 10 minutes from any place we wanted to go. We went to a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding, brunch, the children’s science center, a park, and an indoor flea market. I cannot recommend this rental more highly. If you are hoping to stay in Jensen Beach, look no further. You’ve found it!

What an amazing property! The owners generously provide everything you could possibly need for cooking, the beach, or just hanging at the house! There is so much to see and do…we can’t wait to come back! They even left us a nice treat basket with goodies to snack on! We will be returning to this property for sure!
