Ocean Cottage 114 - Box Turtle Cottage of The Cottages at Jekyll Island is conveniently located in the third oceanfront building north of the Clubhouse and Pool. 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bath two story townhome. Open floor plan concept with kitchen, dining, and living on the first floor. Large Flat Screen TV and gas log fireplace in the living area. Fully equipped kitchen with Whirlpool stainless appliances, gas range and Hamilton Beach brew coffee maker, and Keurig coffee maker. Stack Laundry. Paver patio with hardwired gas grill. Single car garage with 2 adult bikes.
The master suite (King) is located on the first floor and opens to the screened lower porch. 2 bedrooms (Queen & two Twins) with private baths are located on the second floor. Both upper bedrooms open to a large open balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A work/study area is set up on the landing.
2 adult bikes are available with rental.
In addition, guests have access to The Cottages at Jekyll Island million dollar oceanfront amenities, which include Clubhouse with Billiard Table, Fitness Room, zero entry pool, beach deck, beach access and a community fire pit.

Monthly rental rates are available upon request.

Single car Garage 3 car maximum parking.- No trailers of any kind allowed.

If our no pet or no smoking policy is broken, a $1000 fine will be charged AND you will be asked to vacate the property without a refund.

THE COTTAGES BEACH ACCESS:
The Cottages beach is approximately 2000 linear feet and has a dune area and seawall that runs the length of the Cottages oceanfront property. There are 3 dune crossovers to the sand area landside of the seawall that are always accessible, and that area can be used for recreational purposes. The access to the beach over the seawall is centrally located at the pool & clubhouse. At high tide, the water is at the seawall. The tides change every 6 hours from low to high tide. A tide chart will help you plan your beach time. The nearest beach park with ocean access all day is Oceanview Beach Park, appx 2 miles south just past the Holiday Inn. You may view all Jekyll Beaches by visiting the Jekyll Island website under the Beaches tab.

Beautiful home! Highly recommended! It had everything we needed, and all beds were comfortable—even for adults. The back decks were lovely, with plenty of comfortable furniture to relax on. We had a minor AC issue, but it was resolved within a few hours. The property management team was on top of it right away, and the HVAC technician was very kind.The pool was great, with both sunny and shaded areas in and around it. The complex was quiet and peaceful. There is a beach when the tide goes out, but the water was brown during our visit, so we chose not to swim there.One of the bikes was usable, while the other had a flat due to a split tube. We ended up renting additional bikes from Jekyll Wheels, which worked out well when everyone wanted to ride.If you prefer stainless steel or glass cookware, consider bringing your own. The kitchen is stocked with Teflon and plastic items, which may suit some families better. Also, pack extra washcloths and toilet paper—each guest is provided with one towel and one washcloth for the stay.

Nice Property, Great Location

We enjoyed our stay here. Check in and out was a breeze (key pad on door). The property was beautiful. It’s a townhouse but we could not hear any neighbors at all so it was private. We enjoyed the outdoor areas a lot. Everything was nice and clean in the home. Good proximity to the conference center and everything in town. The pool is a very easy 1 minute walk away and that is also where you can find the “club house” and beach access. There are rocks on the shore. My only critique of the stay is the provided items were lacking compared to most stays I’ve had (1 toilet paper roll per bathroom, slim bars of soap, no coffee, etc). We were in town for business so wanted to hang our dress clothes up. There weren’t any hangers or extra pillow cases, so we sent a message for both and they delivered some promptly so that was nice. I would stay here again.

Jekyll Island delight

Great condo with bathrooms for every bedroom. Lovely balcony to enjoy the ocean view. Only recommendations I would make is adding liquid measuring cup and better stocked paper goods (tp and paper towel and garbage bags). THe bikes were wonderful to use.

Beautiful

Overall this was a great stay. The location is amazing with a beautiful view. The furniture was comfortable, especially the outdoor furniture. We loved the screened in porch and rode the bikes after airing up the tires with the provided pump. The lack of extras made it a little less comfortable. We were given one wash cloth and one bath towel per person for 3 nights, so I had to do laundry every day. There were no extra blankets anywhere. I purchased hand soap, fruit fly bait, countertop cleaner, shampoo and conditioner, and detergent at the Jekyll Market that I hadn’t planned on needing. In the welcome book they acknowledge the fruit fly problem and suggest putting out bowls of apple cider vinegar which I definitely didn’t pack and they do not provide. There was mold growing on some kitchen items in a drawer and mold around the bathroom fans. Typically short term rentals that we’ve stayed at are stocked with the household essentials that make the stay more comfortable and convenient, but this home is more like a hotel with no extras. There was no Tupperware to save food after cooking. If you plan on saving anything don’t forget to pack ziplocks, aluminum foil and plastic wrap. I let the property manager know about the mold and musty smell in the kitchen, but never heard back. My suggestion for this particular rental is to assume that it won’t be there, so pack everything you might want.

A great getaway!

The cottage was a great getaway for us to meet our friends! The 2nd floor balcony views are amazing and the furniture is comfortable enough to sit up there for hours looking out to the water and also for stargazing!! Definitely recommend this cottage!!!

Nice late spring family vacation

During our long weekend on Jekyll Island, we appreciated the homey feel of this property. It was just as described and gave our family plenty of space. Everything on Jekyll Island is convenient and we visited several local sites. Overall, a great place for a late spring vacation.

Beachfront Property

Everything was wonderful about the cottage. The kitchen was conveniently equipped (except dull knives). The beds were very comfortable. Our only real complaint is that you advertise this property as “beachfront” so we assumed the beach was accessible from the back porch. Walking that far with chairs and umbrellas was impossible. Make the distance clear on your website.

Relaxing Vacation

The place was nice, make sure to purchase No Natz spray to enjoy the beach. The fruit flies inside the condo were frustrating, but the screened in porch with the beach views were worth it. The location was perfect and everything was close.

property was perfect, location was great. access to pool and beach perfect. not tons of beach past the rock wall, but perfect for quick walks and flying kites in evening. house was wonderful, no basic pantry items included so bring your own (ie salt/pepper, sugar, ect).

No issues whatsoever. The only reason I gave a 4 out of 5 for communication is that when I called during business hours I had to leave a voicemail and didn't hear back. No real issue but nonetheless... We could live here for the rest of our lives!
