Pack up the whole family and make your way to this warm and very inviting Big Canoe home tucked away in a quiet, gated community close to hiking trails, waterfalls, parks, and so much more! Jasper, located about 12 miles west of this property, is a friendly mountain community and home to terrific restaurants, wineries, and premium golf. This property is also just a mile and a half from Lake Petit for boating, swimming, and fishing (with a license).

This snowbird-friendly retreat offers an open and spacious interior with a soaring cathedral ceiling, a dining area, and a main living area with a decorative fireplace. A well-equipped, full kitchen comes complete with Keurig and drip coffee makers, an ice maker, a blender, and plenty of other accessories to make it easy to prepare everyone's favorite recipes. You'll also find a desk and chair up in the loft for your laptops and a game room with a pool table for when you're craving a little friendly competition. For other ways to wind down, give the record player a listen or watch one of the four TVs throughout the home, three of which have cable and one being a smart TV.

Outdoors on the expansive front porch, dine alfresco at the pub-height table, or close out your days gathered around the propane fire table. At the back of the home, the expansive deck boasts additional seating, a gas grill, and a private hot tub - the perfect spot for soothing your trail-weary muscles and enjoying the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest, all from the privacy of your fenced-in yard.

Additional amenities include a private washer/dryer and cooling central air-conditioning for those warm summer days.

All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

It was a lovely house and great location we really liked how close the Lowe’s food store was.

The home and its amenities are wonderful! The area is replete with hiking trails, well maintained roads and exceptional security. We liked it very much. The hot tub was great! We were, unfortunately, not able to use the fire pit or the fireplace (broken knob on pit control), when called vacasa, I was told it was not included . False advertisement!? And the instructions on the fireplace were not clear. Is it wood burning fireplace ? Or a log?( that uses gas?) therefore we could not use either and it was very disappointing. Both bathroom fans are not working properly, which must be replaced. Also, we were given 1 dishwasher pod and 1 laundry pod. There should be notification to the customer to bring their own. Vacasa Company should at least provide for many days of stay. Simple! I was kind enough to run the dishwasher when we checked out. All these complaints are our reaction to how poorly Vacasa maintains the aforementioned things. And when we needed the tow truck for my son’s car. Vacasa took 30 mins to message the gate(I was on hold on the phone, and not to mention, I called 2 hours before that to grant the tow truck access) we never received any communication from them to confirm that they got the message. It was all after the fact. I even asked for Vacasa supervisor and they said they have none. It’s important to the homeowner and us to recognize these problems. It’s too beautiful of experience to allow Vacasa to lessen it. I booked thru VRBO.

Although some renovations it is an older property with an assortment of older furnishings. Lots of sitting areas and well equipped kitchen. The yard/dog area was in need of maintenance which was done at our request. Unfortunately it rained most of the first week and then the hurricane came but not the rental’s fault. The clubhouse is closed for renovations for a year and the pools closed Labor Day limiting dining choices. Overall we like Big Canoe and Vacasa were good to work with. Daythrough

Big Canoe is an amazing place in the North Georgia Mountains. The house was great with plenty of amenities. Think glamping but in a private resort with a hot tub and Wi-Fi, and no light noise or annoying teenagers who use words like "glamping", "me-time", "FOMO" and "JOMO".

I feel/hope our experience was a once off and will be corrected for future guests. I’ll start by saying the cabin itself is lovely. When we arrived, the main level did not appear to be vacuumed, there was dog feces on the back deck, trash still on the floor in the game room as well as game pieces everywhere and dead roaches. When we went to cook dinner that evening nearly every dish we pulled out was dirty. Cooking utensils had old crusted on food stuck to them, crumbs and grease at the bottoms of the pots/pans, the large metal pan had caked on grease with food in it. Plates had old food on them, Silverware had food stuck to them. Prior to cooking I hand washed all dirty dishes then emptied the rest into the dishwasher and washed everything. There are also no grilling utensils and no measuring cup for liquids. There was also a load of still wet towels in the dryer. I rewashed those as well. Another issue is the back deck/yard. It is beyond dark outside after 9pm that it’s honestly a hazard. After the first night my kids didn’t even want to use the hot tub anymore because my 7 year old was adamant she couldn’t see the stairs and was going to fall. I also, not being able to see my hand in front of my face did not want to go out after dark. This, to me is not pet friendly at all as advertised, which makes sense as to why there was dog feces on the deck. Dogs are not nocturnal. They do not want to walk down stairs they can’t see and aren’t familiar with into a dark yard they also

This trip offered us everything we needed: relaxation, exploration, nature hikes, fishing, family time and it was dog-friendly, an added bonus! Our cabin was welcoming, cozy and clean. The hot tub was a hit after hiking all day and playing card games by fireplace were the perfect way to end the day.

The house was clean and the ere very responsive with any problems we had. Everything was great except they expect you to take your own yeah 9 mins to the north gate trash place. Which I never did find even after asking the north gate attendant. Everything else was great. They also have a do not enter sign on the room with the pool table. If you don't want guest in there then don't list it as amenity.

Our family (including two doxies) had a great trip to this wonderful cabin in Big Canoe. The house was set up perfect for our small dogs with a latched backyard. The house itself was beautiful and spacious. Our daughter had her own bed and bath downstairs and we enjoyed the Master bed and bath. (Recommend a footstool for the master bed. We’re both tall but it was a TALL bed!). Lots of areas for sitting and looking out of the windows on the main level and upper loft. It was too cold for the hot tub and porches this time but they were nice. Easy check in and checkout as well as traveling in and out with gate pass. Suggest adding a few more basic items in the kitchen such as sugar, etc. for the coffee machine. We enjoyed our stay and the beautiful Georgia mountain areas!

Our stay was good. The home was nice with all the good accommodations that we liked. I guess the only draw back for us was that the home was 35-40 minutes from Dahlonega. We had never been to this area before so really wasn't familiar with driving distances. Also we had rain for two of our 3 days so that wasn't good but that's mother nature. We did have a problem checking in when we arrived at the main gate. Security said our name wasn't on the list and it took some calls etc... to get us in and it was almost midnight when we arrived as it was. Anyway we finally got in and all ended well. The Big Canoe is a very large area consisting of its own everthing. Nice place but way off the beaten path.

The property and house absolutely exceeded our expectations. We all agreed it was the best rental we’ve ever been in. Everything was in great working order, very clean and absolutely gorgeously decorated. I did not want to leave! Can’t wait to go back it’s definitely a must. Thank you so much for hosting, communication was super easy. The home is located in a gated community and added names for food/grocery deliveries was super simple.

First of all the cabin was beautiful and just as show. It was very clean and comfortable..the check in process went as normal until we got to the door. It was pitch dark, we had a very excited chattering 6 year old. None of us could figure out how to unlock the door in such darkness. 20 min and a phone call later we unlocked the door. Discovered the lock box when we turned on the lghts from the inside.. Discovered one clogged sink, not so hot showers but at least we had a hot tub. The tub was very nice, but again the back porch was very dark. There was no safety light just the lights from the hot tub, and it was a littler dangerous not knowing where things were wet and dark. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, toaster, coffeemaker. Bring your own cream and sugar. There is a full bedroom and bath downstairs next to the laundry room. There is also a full game room in the converted garage. Lots to do for the whole family. The only sour note really is after the trouble with the gate lady no one really wanted to deal with the hassle So instead of enjoying the cabin and amenities we found other thugs to do with the girls and their families

We enjoyed the many trails in Big Canoe. The home was comfortable and all the appliances were in good working order. Remember to bring your dishwashing capsules though. The bedroom on the main living level has very comfy king bed. However the other king bed is in the lower level which smells a bit musty, so we made up the sofa bed in the living room instead. Checkout instructions mention that trash can be deposited in the trash cans outside the property. We couldn’t find them. All in all a pleasant few days.

We didn’t know what to expect of the Big Canoe, and this well furnished house certainly gave a lovely introduction. It’s clean, cozy, and sensibly decorated. The beds and three full bathrooms worked out well for our group. Plenty of sitting areas and seating indoors and outdoors. Nice lighting. Tasteful reading materials and records selections. The game room adds a nice touch. Galley kitchen with nice appliances, cookware, and tableware. Clean hot tub. Serene but not isolated. It must be a wonderful retreat for all seasons. Communication via VRBO was sketchy at first. Once I called Vacasa directly, it was of no problem.

Although the weather wasn't great, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The house was clean and there were several trails nearby the dog enjoyed! He also enjoyed all the sticks in the yard after the rain and watching all the wildlife!

This is the cleanest rental we’ve ever had. It’s clearly recently been refurbished, with the owners giving a lot of thought into the facilities. The community it is in has lots of great walking trails and other facilities.
