The apartment consists of an airy, open-plan living area with two smart sofas and a flat-screen TV. Glass doors open onto the private balcony, which is partly shaded and makes a delightful outdoor sitting room. It is furnished with a sofa, armchairs, coffee table and a fun swinging egg chair. It looks out over the resort and the umbrella pines which line the beach.

Back inside, there is a breakfast bar with 4 stools next to the stylish, open kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer.

Extra: One of the sofas in the living area converts into a comfortable double bed.

Location
The resort of San Pietro is on Lalzit Bay, one of the most popular holiday-destinations in Albania. It is known for its sandy, child-friendly beaches, good restaurants (2-minute walk) and bars. There is plenty to do on the beach including scuba diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing and a children’s playground. For self-catering there is a supermarket in San Pietro (1-minute drive).

Away from the coast there are many charming hill towns, including Kruje (1 hour) which is home to 5th-century Kruje Castle, as well as Kruje Bazaar which dates back to the 17th century. Here you can find authentic Albanian carpets, textiles and ceramics. There are also hiking routes in the surrounding mountains which range from the easy to the challenging.

Tirana is a 45-minute drive and makes a great day trip. It is an eclectic mix of Ottoman, Soviet and Fascist architecture. The city is easy to explore on foot. Blloku is an exciting, young area, full of cafés and interesting boutiques. The main square – Skanderbeg Square is a must-see. The city’s markets offer a window onto everyday life. The New Market, Pazari Ri offers a wide range of local produce.

Tirana International Airport is just a 40-minute drive from the apartment.
