Some say it was named after people who have vine (Croatian vinjani) and others that it was named after tribe Vinjani from Middle Ages. Vinjani was first time mentioned in 1371. in a letter. In 1717. Vinjani belonged to Venice after Venetian-Turkish wars. In 1747. Vinjani was declared as independent parish. Nearest larger town is Imotski. You can visit its attractions Red and Blue lakes. In Imotski you will also find restaurants, cafes, stores, pharmacy, banks, post office and everything you might need during your stay.
