"We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end. "

"we had a lovely time in Galway Heights. We really liked the location in a small rural road close to a hindu temple and small village and in the tea plantations. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff very attentive. The only grievance was the lack of elevator. We would definitely recommend this."

"Our stay at Araliya Green City was amazing. We received a traditional welcome (lighting of Oil lamp, garland) Our room ws sòoooooo spacious. It had 4 washrooms, 3 fire places, 2 massive king size beds, living room, dining room, fully functional kitchen with 5 appliances. Washer and dryer. It had the best view. Special Thanks to Thiyagu at the front office who treated us like family. The General Manager - Dinesh pays attention to every details.."

Apart from the fact that the rooms are amazing (we could have had a party for 30 in our room), the thing that really made it for us was the attitude of the staff. They were attentive and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Do try to fit in a tour of the tea plantations and waterfalls. The scenery will blow your mind! "

"We had a wonderful stay at Oatlands by Jetwing. Arriving in the evening we were warmly welcomed by Sarath, with hot soup to warm us up. The bungalow is tastefully decorated and had a lovely fire in the living room. The bedrooms were cosy and warm and bathroom spotlessly clean. "The staff were kind and attentive to our queries and requests. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Excellent food. I would recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast over the English breakfast, though. Fresh coconut sambol was magnificent! Wonderful and charming ambiance in the dining room and a smashing little pub (though they didn't have Guinness which I had to go to the Grand Hotel for). The little garden is a lovely spot to sip a cup of tea in the sunshine."
