'The Captain's Cottage' on Lake Hamilton

The Captain's Cottage is a quaint fishing cottage that makes the perfect retreat for honeymooners, a couples getaway or a family up to 4. The kitchen, dining and living room are all open to each other creating a bright and sunny atmosphere. There are many large windows which allow a lake view from every room in the house. Kitchen has been updated with granite counter tops.

Just steps away from the front door, you are sure to enjoy swimming, sunning, fishing, bird and boat watching and all of the activities that lend itself to lake living. The house has a great swim area, a large swim dock and a deck on the front of the house that faces the lake. You don't want to miss the sunrises and sunsets from the deck of the Captain's House. They are truly breathtaking and yes, you can see both from the deck and the dock.

Hot Springs National Park has been known as Arkansas' premiere resort town since Hernando Desoto. (That's a long time!) Attractions to see include: the National Park, Magic Springs Amusement and Water Park, The Belle of Hot Springs Riverboat, Garvan Woodland Gardens, Oaklawn Race Track and Casino, Mid America Science Museum, The 5 Star Theater, Gangster Museum, Pirate Cove Mini Golf, and shopping in our beautiful downtown. Hot Springs is also a great place take a bath and massage, hike, horseback ride, shop, golf, eat--great restaurants, and of course.....relax.

What a find! This charming cottage was exactly what we were looking for when we decided we needed a quick little getaway on the water! It is situated literally just a few steps from the shoreline with easy access to the water for our aging Vizsla to enjoy a quick swim with us! Though the fish weren’t biting at the times we chose to try, we enjoyed casting from the roomy pier. The interior of the comfy cottage boasts an adorable decor arranged with the practiced eye of an artistic soul and is well equipped with essentials. Mark and Gigi were excellent hosts, and provided reliable suggestions for making the most of the area. We would count ourselves lucky to book this property again!

Property owners were very gracious and kind. Cottage was just perfect size for me, it has two bedrooms and pull out sofa so it accomadates more. I highly recommend this cottage right on the lake, you even have your own personal pier, nice lounge chairs to sun yourself. I didn’t want to leave!

GREAT getaway!

Super easy check in. Accurate posting. Great stay for me, my husband, and our 2 teenage boys (18 & 15). Easy 20 minute drive from Camp Ozark, reason we were in the area. The view of the lake on the porch and pier were impeccable! In town and close to anything you may need. Only negative was driveway was pretty steep but nothing our vehicle (Toyota Highlander) couldn't handle. Will definitely stay here again if in the area!

The house was great! I had plenty of privacy that’s important to me. Water and peri was so nice. If you are an early bird you can catch a Beautiful sunrise. Very peaceful stay. Great host!

Captains cottage!

Our stay was wonderful we caught lots of fish.. The house was cute and great location but it was not clean at all there were crumbs under couches that were visible as soon as we walked in, cob webs and dust on the light fixtures and ceiling fans, under the beds haven’t been vacuumed in a while and the sheets on one of the beds had stains on them, the house has minimal for cooking we couldn’t even find a spatula and the pots and pans could use some updating. The house needs a very thorough deep cleaning, some of the dishes, pans and appliances in the cabinets weren’t cleaned properly. I have stayed here a couple of times in the past with no complaints but the drive ways new concrete made it so much more difficult for multiple cars to maneuver around and the cleanliness of the property has definitely decreased since our last visit!

Loved everything!

We over everything about the property. It was clean, owners were friendly, and the lake was great! Close to town but not right in town and was quiet. We will be back!
