A warm welcome to the Berger!<br>Martin and Maria Enzinger and their three daughters welcome you.<br>Our Berger Farm, a former agricultural estate, is located in the Almertsham district of Höslwang, nestled in the rolling hills of the Chiemgau region.<br>You’ll enjoy the peace and quiet here on our farm, yet spend your vacation right in the heart of the Chiemgau region, with easy access to numerous recreational activities, both in summer and winter.<br>Our proximity to Lake Chiemsee, the Eggstätt-Hemhof Lake District, and the mountains makes us the ideal starting point for hikes, bike rides, and excursions to the region’s many sights and attractions. And even if the weather isn’t quite in the vacation spirit, you certainly won’t get bored. The kids will love a visit to the Badria water park in nearby Wasserburg am Inn, while adults can find relaxation and rejuvenation at the Bad Endorf thermal spa. We also recommend a visit to the Amerang Farmhouse Museum or the historic old town of Wasserburg. <br>Right in our neighborhood is a cozy Bavarian tavern with its own butcher shop and beer garden. There, you can sample the variety of traditional Bavarian cuisine. Every Thursday starting at 10 a.m., they serve a special treat: fresh white sausages straight from the kettle.<br>You’ll spend your vacation with us in one of two spacious attic apartments completed in 2021, which were furnished in a fresh, modern country house style by your host and carpenter Martin Enzinger. Each apartment features a balcony with seating and a separate children’s room. Dormer windows make the rooms bright and spacious. The two apartments, “Bergblick” and “Waldblick,” are fully equipped with everything you need. A built-in kitchen with a dishwasher, kettle, egg cooker, coffee maker, and toaster, plus a stove with an oven and a 4-burner ceramic cooktop. The bathrooms, which feature skylights, include a walk-in shower with a rain showerhead, a towel warmer, and a hair dryer.<br>This means you can travel light when coming to stay with us.<br>In the cozy, bright living room, you can take a seat in the dining area or relax on the sofa in front of the internet-enabled TV. When the weather is nice, the covered south-facing balcony is the perfect spot for breakfast. From there, you can also best enjoy the sweeping view of the mountains and the surrounding countryside and reflect on an eventful day.<br>Nothing stands in the way of a relaxing vacation!<br><br>Leisure:<br>The nearby Chiemsee, the “Bavarian Sea,” invites you to go sailing and boating. Take one of the sightseeing steamers to Herreninsel, home to the Royal Castle built by King Ludwig II. On the smaller Fraueninsel, with its historic monastery, you’ll find plenty of arts and crafts, well-tended cottage gardens, and excellent restaurants.<br>The medieval towns of Salzburg, Wasserburg am Inn, and Kufstein—all well worth visiting—ensure that cultural experiences are not overlooked. The region also boasts several well-developed and signposted cycling trails, such as the Pope Benedict Trail, the Via Julia, and the Chiemsee Loop. The local mountains offer excellent and varied conditions for excursions in every season. Fall, however, is the best time of year for mountain hikes. The temperatures are more pleasant, and the foliage in the mountain forests takes on vibrant colors. Many of the mountains are also accessible by aerial cableway. Especially in summer, this allows you to avoid the strenuous climb. <br>Of course, there’s also a wide range of activities for children. Fun, games, and nature experiences await at the amusement parks in Marquartstein, Ruhpolding, and Oberreith. If the weather is bad, a trip to the water parks in Wasserburg am Inn and Prien am Chiemsee is sure to lift your spirits.<br>And if you’d simply like to spend a quiet day with us—we have something for the kids right here as well. In the garden, there’s a swing, a trampoline, and a sandbox. The small toy vehicle collection is sure to make children’s hearts race.<br>By car, you can reach grocery stores and shops for daily necessities, as well as drugstores, a doctor’s office, and a pharmacy, all within a few minutes.
