IMPORTANT NOTES

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:

A number of sinkholes have appeared on the property which restricts access to the lawn in some areas. These areas are cordoned off for guest safety. In 2026, repairs to the seawall will begin and will continue into 2027. The work will involve excavation and seawall reinforcement work with heavy equipment. The ambiance of Hale Mahina will be affected but we will try to maintain access to the beach area on the southside of the property. Check back for updates on the progress and view the webcam on Hale Mahina’s website for a real-time picture of the work.

Pest Control and Roosters

Due to Maui’s rural location, you may experience the occasional rooster or harmless gecko. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaiʻi. The HOA performs regular pest control, but insects and lizards are part of island life. Our units are meticulously cleaned and inspected — contact us if you notice more than normal activity, and we’ll work with the HOA to assist. These occurrences do not constitute a refund or rental adjustment.

Hawaiʻi Climate

Hawaiʻi’s tropical environment supports small island wildlife such as geckos, ants, and roosters. Despite regular professional pest control, these are part of everyday island life.

Any contact with such pests does not constitute a breach of agreement or qualify for refunds or adjustments.
