Complimentary bagels and croissants at breakfast although choc au pain were hard. Coffee machine out action so had to boil kettle. Free bottles water available Awkward heavy doors to open on floor 2 leading to our room. . Signs are needed when using stairs as not clear how to get to reception. Nothing on door or wall as guidance. Staff all.very helpful. Unfortunately the whole room shakes whenever any bus or large vehicle travels down the road. Trying to sleep with a shaking bed took some getting used to. Breakfast was disappointing. I expected better with the additional cost. No Bananas or Apples, just a selection of sliced fruit. One morning, I asked for more yogurt but they had ‘run out’! The map, suggestions and free drink were a nice added touch. Cons were that the bathroom door didn’t lock, there wasn’t any hair conditioner or face cloths. "Excellent location at a fair price. Rooms were clean and the hotel offered a hot and continental breakfast in the morning for a fee. Staff was very accommodating for an early check-in for a reasonable fee. Only downside was the train noise from the nearby station - but the windows did a superb job ..."

"Although recognised as a somewhat budget hotel, The Hub in Edinburgh was very disappointing. It looks all edgy and modern but in reality it is all form over function.
