"The property is in a lovely setting and as the sun was shining we enjoyed an evening glass of wine on the patio looking over the gardens and tipi. The restaurant, public areas and the bedrooms were all pristine and food of a great standard, when in the area we would definitely stay again."

"This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night."

On two of our three evenings we ate in the inn and the food was great, cannot fault any of it. Lovely, friendly staff. Great position for travelling to all the sights in Northumberland. We will definitely stay again."

"Self access = soulless. Didn't see another person. Empty tables in the dining room felt like the Marie Celeste. Breakfast in a bakery and fridge in the room. Very expensive for what it was. Very dim lighting."

"We had a lovely stay at the Oaks. The staff were all very helpful, and the food was delicious in the bar in the evening, and the breakfast was also great! The car park was always busy, but we were always able to find a space."
