"Thank you again for providing such a fantastic base for our holiday. Curlew Cottage was equipped with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite was a bonus. The location was stunning with a wonderful view to enjoy from the lovely garden. Betty the Cockapoo had a great time, getting to know the other animals, though I think she might have been disappointed that Jack, the sheep, wouldn't chase her. She enjoyed meeting them all. "really comfortable stay - the cottage is cosy but has high ceilings so no banged heads and it doesn't feel cramped. beds really comfy. fantastic location - amazing walks from outside the front door. lovely pub in the village down the hill. and the owners run the tea room next door so left us a lovely plate of cakes on arrival! "We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. "New Mills is not a spa town like Buxton but it has an interesting industrial heritage. It is a great centre for local walks and for accessing Kinder Scout and the likes of Mam Tor. There is a good train service to Edale & Hope which can give some flexibility in planning walks. We couldn't fault the property, it is well equipped and comfortably furnished. "

"I live near Southampton and run a company based near Stoke and this is my favourite perch; the kitchen lets me eat normally as I tend to keep strange hours. Just right size and facilities for me. Could just as well be a perch for a countryside break. Highly recommended "
