Open now! No hurricane damage and post-hurricane upgrades. All photos were taken post-hurricane. Our Island Retreat cottage, situated 3 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the bay with a heated pool and secluded yard surrounded by mangroves, is a two story pet friendly home which includes 3 bedrooms on the first floor with the master suite on second floor, cable TV in all 4 bedrooms, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, linens and towels, porches on both levels to enjoy gulf and bay breezes, and dock in shallow boat basin directly across the street. A true island getaway!

Noise Disclaimer - “You are vacationing in a residential area where homes are in close proximity to each other. Please be a good neighbor by keeping the noise to a respectful level during the day and night. The maximum permissible noise level is 65 decibels (e.g., a normal conversation) between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M., and 50 decibels (quiet conversation) between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M. of the next day. Great location

Great location and a family friendly house! The house itself could use a little updating/ painting, but there is plenty of space for 8 adults to relax on vacation.

I give you one star, for cuteness.

Let me list the problems we had : Before we even left, the property was pulled of the rental market. Upon arrival there was a notice on the window of cease to rent to any occupants. The home was not clean and food was left in refrigerator. The pool was a mess with crabs and debris. It as extremely hot and the upstairs fans were not working , so it was muggy. most remotes were broken to tv's. The main bath was not draining. The beds were horrible. Then the police showed up and let us know we were not supposed to be there. Apparently the owner has been summons to court over an issue with the township. How embarrassing to me and my family . We came in for my daughters wedding ! Now I had to worry about being locked out by the law ! Seemed like a real goat rodeo. I will be contacting the owner for a refund for the poor handling of the situation and the humiliation I had to deal with. How can I refer homeaway with this kind of stuff happening ?

Great location and floor plan but needs maintenance

We enjoyed the location close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The open floor worked very well for our family. Our kids enjoyed the fish chairs in the upstairs bedroom. But the home needs some TLC in terms of basic maintenance.

Family wedding

We stayed here while attending a family wedding in Cortez. This house worked well for 5 adults. Very spacious. The upstairs bedroom is fabulous! We noticed there are a few things that could use some maintenance repair. Such as sliding door in living room doesn’t open. Some of the screens need replacement. Outside painting needs to be finished. We did not have any extra toilet paper or parper towels and needed to purchase them. Overall this is a great rental in a perfect location.

Perfect family holiday trip!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving trip with family at this beautiful home! Plenty of room for everyone to relax and have their privacy. Great location! Close to stores and a quick walk to the beach. Quiet and relaxing!
