"Parking was easy, lots of spaces close to the Reception area and 24hrs of free cover provided in our overnight booking. Room was clean and functional, albeit slightly dated but everything worked - perfect for an overnight stopover. There were plenty who had dogs with them and a small lake at the back of the property for walking around. We couldn't hear any real noise from the nearby roads and the bedding was great, very comfortable. The Receptionist was also really helpful and friendly "

The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, they made us feel very comfortable in the beautiful location. We really enjoyed our pre dinner drinks by the open fire in the guests lounge and learning about the history as we explored the building. Delicious food, we met the chef who checked our exact needs. "Arrived at the hotel, which to their credit allowed us to check in early as we had to get to a wedding before their usual check-in time. Unfortunately the room was absolutely freezing - we thought the heating might be off, but it was actually on. As we were in a rush we turned the heater up and left for the day. "Check in was quick. Room was dated but clean and tidy. Gym was adequate. However, I barely slept. The room was ridiculously warm, even with the windows open. The walls were paper thin so I could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms. The hotel is on a main road so the traffic noise was loud with the window open. "

"Great place to stay in Moffat's main street. I had a single room with spacious bathroom, kettle with coffee/tea, biscuits and milk in a fridge with bottled water and cola. Comfortable bed and all spotlessly clean. Friendly bar with nice varied menu plus good breakfast. Loads of parking outside. Really enjoyed my stay."

"Very disappointing. I paid £98 for a very basic twin room for 1 night. Only 1 bed was made up and room was clean but very dated, and the property and grounds have seen better days and are overall quite scruffy. No TV in room but was told I could watch TV downstairs if I wanted to. The shower didn't work properly - either scalding hot or dribbled out cold water. Sink took ages to drain, noisy radiator. "What a super little hotel! Upon arrival, we received a warm Scottish welcome and were shown up to our rooms. It may be the narrowest detached hotel in the world but the rooms aren't lacking in space. The following morning we had a good Scottish breakfast before heading north on our journey."
