We got in bed and there was sand all in bed. I understand at beach but clean bedding? Thank God I brought blankets to lay down in bed so we didn’t feel the sand. Dark room when asked for ocean front. The neighbor stayed up all night with TV so loud couldn’t sleep. We roughed it out for two nights.

Great little getaway spot

The location is perfect! It was a nice little bungalow for a couples retreat. Updated and just a really good place to stay. We will definitely be coming back!

Perfect spot for a little getaway.

This property was so adorable. It was just enough space for my husband and our two dogs. The beach was steps away and the live music from Surf City Line in the evenings made for a great long weekend getaway. Would 100% stay there again!!

Shockingly small

Close to the beach and the AC was ice cold about the only positives to this place. The place is extremely small, much smaller than any hotel room I’ve ever seen. Bed was old and sunk in the middle, mold on the shower walls and floor we wore flip flops in the shower, stains on the walls, the pictures are deceptive be sure to look very closely. The house is divided into 7 units so it’s really crowded. No beach chairs or beach items as suggested and the $125 cleaning fee is ridiculous for the tiny place. I would not recommend staying in this unit. No washer and dryer available, no closet, hutch, or drawers of any kind so you literally live out of your bag. So many negatives stove or oven of any kind. I’m being generous in giving it a 2 star

Great Little Place!

We went down in January w/ our dog. She loved the beach and area. Since it was January parking was very easy but each apartment has its own space as well. This a one room place that is perfect and very clean. We would stay here again. FYI the Mexican Restaurant behind the apartment was very good as well. We highly recommend this place for a couple.

Location location location

For two people wanting to be as close as possible to the beach, this unit can’t be beat. Also, the units are super dog friendly which is awesome. The units are accurate to their pictures, with some minor wear and tear. Our only issues were that a few of the mugs seemed dirty upon our arrival (not a huge deal because we don’t use them, but we felt the need to clean them before leaving so no one thought we left them that way) and there is definitely an earwig problem. We had to get rid of a few every day during our stay. Being dog friendly, pest control might be difficult to ensure pet safety, but it was definitely more than just a random bug that found it’s way in. Still a great stay, just wish there weren’t so many earwigs.

Perfect location

This place literally thought of everything for you. They even had ear plugs because we faced a bar and restaurant that plays live music (they give a heads up about it in the listing, which i appreciated), but honestly it didnt bother us and you can't hear it all with the door closed. Everyone was suoer nice and the place was very clean. And it had a nice big bed! You are right on the beach and theres a little shower for your feet right off the path. The only thing that orevent you from seeing the ocean from the oarking lot is the dunes, you are right there!

Enjoyed our stay

Loved our stay at Turtle Shell. Room was clean and conveniently located to beach and Surf City Line restaurant. Highly recommend considering this option for a stay on the island.

Close to the beach

Location was good, but room was small. Also everything felt damp even with AC running. Refrigerator freezer didn’t get cold enough and dripped onto food in main area. TV and bathroom shower were nice bed was comfortable except for the slight damp feeling of the covers. Parking was a little challenging.
