Everything was except for the A/C not working. They came once and did somerhing. Saidnit worked butnit didnt. It wasn't hot this week so not terrible. Inside at night was around 72. Other than that it was a pleasent stay.

This was our second visit to Bungalow A, a favorite space with a great location. A few repairs are needed -- the gate to the dog area is broken, and the latch on the gate to the deck is very loose. Also, a blind on the living room window doesn't work, which obstructs the beautiful ocean view. Some of the chairs need a good cleaning. I noticed that, although the place had obviously been prepped for our arrival, the air was still pretty stale. I used a trick I've learned, which is to wipe down any flat surfaces that don't get cleaned often, like the tops of window, door and picture frames, high shelves, and the top of the fridge. Took me less than an hour, and was totally worth it. I recommend doing this at least a couple of times a year to keep things fresh. This is a great place to stay though, especially for dog lovers. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Bungalow A is excellent

We really appreciated how clean and well-appointed this property was. We loved the location, tucked away at the end of North Shore Drive, a short 2 mile drive to downtown Surf City. And dog-friendly too. We definitely would pick Bungalow A again.

End of summer getaway

My daughter and I and 2 grandchildren took a long weekend at the beach. Although it rained a lot because of the incoming hurricane we had a nice time. The residence was comfortable. The only suggestion I have is that the porch didn’t have a covered area to sit on the deck. That would have been nice to sit while it rained.

Perfect for Us

The bungalow was perfect for our group with our dog. It is beautiful, nicely decorated and extremely clean and cared for. Location is great with direct gazebo access to the beach. The deck is a great space with very comfortable furniture and a gate so our dog could enjoy it too.

Bungalow A

A very nice little place, roomy enough for the two of us and our little dog. The outside deck was nice (we were in the upstairs unit) and allowed us a partial view of the ocean over the dunes. It was a short (1 minute) walk to the beach each day, very relaxing.

Wonderful Stay

Quick getaway for a few days and everything was perfect- from location right on the ocean, to the cleanliness and spaciousness of the bungalow and I felt so secure with my dog, Seymour, having a gated deck to lay outside with me as well as the back yard area for dogs. I spent majority of the time on the front deck listening to the ocean and enjoying the beautiful, October warmth and sun. I checked out the restaurant right behind with takeout- great food, really nice people. Met lots of very kind, local people on our daily dog walks around the neighborhood. Would definitely return!!!!

Beach Bungalow A+

This bungalow is larger than it appears in photos, which was a pleasant surprise. It is newly renovated and decorated beautifully. The bathrooms are both en suite with the washer/dryer combo in the master bath, which I found extremely convenient. The location is fantastic. Truly a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. The view from the deck is lovely and relaxing, but there is no shade, so we erected a pop-up gazebo and created shade and a little more privacy. There were a couple little glitches during our stay, and the hosts were very responsive. Also, Turtle Shell staff are on the property almost daily and are very approachable if you need anything. Two caveats: 1) If cooking is a big part of your vacation, this might not be the place for you, as the kitchen is not well-equipped and there is very little counter space, and, 2) I wish it wasn’t so expensive!
