Our House Is Your Home Away From Home

Aloha!
We are Keone and Yonnell Farias. We were both born and raised here on this wonderful island. We welcome you to our beautiful new home and would be happy to share with you our favorite places. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Waiakea Uka, we are a short 10-minute ride from the airport, 35 minutes to the Volcano, and just a few minutes from local grocery stores and eateries!
Waiākea Uka is translated as "the mountainside" of Waiākea. There are beautiful views of both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa mountain. The University of Hawaii at Hilo is located in the Waiākea district as well. There are parks and convenience stores within walking distance to the house but a car would be more suitable.
Our house is your home away from home.
We want you to feel at home during your stay. We also respect your privacy. The keypad entry allows you to come and go at your convenience. We live nearby and are only a call or text away for any questions, suggestions, and housekeeping needs you may have.

We stayed here with our family for an Easter weekend. It was the perfect place to stay for a weekend on Hilo! It's in a safe, quiet neighborhood that's centrally located if you're looking to enjoy any of the sites local to the east side of the island.We particularly enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, where we were able to grab fresh produce from the Hilo Farmers Market and whip up some great food with the kitchen supplies they had in the house. Felt like we were in our own kitchen.The hosts were very communicative and you could see the attention to detail they spent making their house the perfect place for families looking for a Hawaii retreat. I'm counting the days until I can book another stay!

Ulu Wai served as a beautiful and excellent location for our 2-day stay to cheer our on niece/grand-daughter playing in the Hawaii Island Labor Day Classic volleyball tournament. The rental is very clean and thoughtfully well stocked with all the provisions we needed and more. It was spacious for our family of 6 adults, and we spent quality time together in between games. The owners were very communicative and thoughtful as they surprised and delighted us with a treat bag and a welcome note. We would love to return for a visit during the Merrie Monarch Festival and absolutely would recommend this lovely rental for anyone looking for a convenient, spacious and beautiful space to enjoy Hilo.

Great place!

This location was perfect for everything we did in Hilo - zoo, volcano, dinner in Hilo town. The location is very convenient, quiet and has a nice family friendly vibe. The house itself was very clean and well kept. It had some toys and games to keep the toddler who accompanied us busy for a bit. The coqui frog noise wasn’t too bad at all. The only thing I’d comment on is that the fan in one of the bedrooms is quite loud. Otherwise everything was perfect for our short stay in Hilo.

Fantastic home in a convenient location

We loved our stay - beautiful, newer home with all the amenities we needed. The location was super convenient to visit family in the area, and the hosts were fantastic (and very understanding when we forgot to leave the garage door opener - luckily we got it back). We hope to return on a future trip. Highly recommended.

The communication from the host was stellar. The home had 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. 2 king beds and one queen.The kitchen was outfitted with everything you could need. Hilo Getaway

The property was exactly as advertised. The check-in was easy and check out was even better. The owner allowed us to keep our bags in the garage after check out so we could explore more of Hilo since our flight was later in the day. I would recommend this home without hesitation.

Sooooo nice

We traveled with our adult kids so we really enjoyed the space to spread out. This home is very nice. The beds were comfortable and even though we didn’t cook, the kitchen was very well equipped. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Quiet Location

This was a great stay for my father and I on a trip to see the Volcanos and Mauna Kea. We were there for two nights and enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet place to stay. With the windows open, you could hear the birds which was nice when compared to a hotel. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Beautiful house

Restful stay in a beautiful home for our family of 4. Having a garage to park the car was an extra bonus. The house was conveniently located to go to Hawaii volcanoes national park and to shopping areas. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you!
