Come to our condo in Paradise..The MAUNA LOA SHORES is on the ocean in HILO; an exceptional town with plenty to do here on the east side of our beautiful island. The Beach Park next door where you can swim with sea turtles is a once in a life experience. My 49 years as a resident and 46 years as a Realtor here will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the perfect stay.

Listen to the gentle sounds of the Pacific. Spectacular Views, Total amenities, Next to condo is super park with EZ ocean access; Carlsmith Beach Park, where you can swim with Sea Turtles!!! Fantastic. You will love this condo for your Big Island stay. Full amenities, beautiful. Mauna Loa Shores is now solar powered electric for ECO friendly stay. The apartment was clean and everything inside was working as it should. Great location next to a nice tide pool area where snorkeling was possible. The building common areas were not ideal, and the pool needs a good cleaning, but for the money the location and condition of the apartment was a good value.

The condo was certainly satisfactory. Really only issue was the pool is not that great and it was freezing. There was no smoke detector, which my 4 year old grandson noticed. The location was very good.

Parking was easy and secure. Building is on a street with some traffic noise, even at night and early morning Sunday trash pickup. Location was good, beautiful lush tropical view with a bit of the cove and ocean from lanai. We would stay here again for sure. The pool did not appear inviting, it was not well lit and it looked dark. We did not see it get much use but we did not stay here for pool access. Unit was clean and host communicated well with plenty of information. Everything worked in the unit and it had everything we needed. Convenient access to explore Hilo and surrounding areas including the Volcano National Park. There is so much to see around Hilo and the coast! We had a great time.

The property adjoins a very swimmable beach and has a nice pool as well. The view from the 5th floor was fantastic and our place was clean and well stocked. Unfortunately the neighborhood was quite noisy.

We enjoyed our stay in Hilo! This is a quintessential Hawaiian apartment/condo. Very simple, great ocean breezes, walk out and take a dip in the protected seawater pools kind of place.

Great Location - Secure Building

Great location near nice beach/park within minutes from downtown Hilo. Awesome manager communication with excellent local recommendations. Easy access, parking, and key elevator for secure building access. Only negative is there were many small bugs probably due to the closeness of the park and very loud traffic noise due to being on a main street.

We loved this condo. It was clean and quiet and right next to carlsmith park. It was a bit of a drive (10 minutes) to get into town, but we loved the location. One of my favorite things was the view from the deck. Pure jungle and ocean. Breathtaking! The condo was also well furnished and so comfortable. Wonderful place to stay!

First stay here was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we came back and stayed in this same condo for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. It’s clean, well stocked and the location is perfect. Thanks for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us, look forward to our return visit to this same place again!

Beautiful, comfortable condo in Hilo

The location next to the park is fantastic! I loved walking over to the park for a swim in the morning, and not having to fight for park parking on a saturday afternoon! The condo has been renovated with modern finishes and is very comfortable inside. Great sleep on the bed, and the fans make the interior feel cool and relaxing without AC. An easy, quick drive into Hilo. Parking spot is very close to the front door. Very good for solo traveler or a couple. The cooler was a great bonus for my driving trips around the island. Two notes: the exterior of the building is a bit dated, but do not worry - the condo is upgraded with modern fixtures and finishes inside including usb charging outlets. Also, as others note in reviews, there was some drag racing and loud cars on the street outside the condo on weekend nights. I shut the windows and slept just fine.

Comfortable Stay

Property was clean and comfortable and a good size and security is very good. It has a dedicated parking stall. Host Terry was very helpful. You can see and hear the ocean from the balcony and there is nice swimming in the sheltered bay. The tree frog chirping at night was part of the tropical experience. A nice place overall.

Lovely spot

My wife and I had a very nice stay at Mauna Loa Shores! The lanai is nice and private, with a great view of the lagoon at Carlsmith Beach Park. The condo itself is very tastefully appointed and decorated, and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. The owner was very communicative leading up to our stay. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Hilo.

Cozy Condo

We enjoyed our stay in Hilo. From the beginning Terry answered all our questions Condo clean and well stocked bed very comfortable. View of the bay as described. There is no air conditioning at the property but it didn't need it cool breezes at night were wonderful. As far as the complex as a whole it could use some tlc and especially the pool Coin operated washer dryer conveniently located on each floor.

Nice but Not Clean

My wife and I recently visited Hilo for the hiking and turtle-spotting. We were happy to find this condo very close to the water and a 10 minute drive to downtown. Overall the condo was as advertised but the building feels more worn down with a dirty swimming pool and roaches in the kitchen. That said, Terry was very friendly and responsive and the checkin/out process was very smooth. While I felt our expectations were reasonable, killing a few roaches everyday made us feel a little gross the whole time we were there.

Hilo condo

This condo was in a good location, close to water with a beautiful view of the water through the trees. Fairly quiet, some street noise and close to airport but that didn't bother us. Condo was very clean and well kept, really have no complaints about it. We enjoyed our week long stay.
