  • Our Up North Retreat awaits you. Sitting on Long Lake in Hillman, Mi. This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a separate cabin detached from the house. There is a hot tub and sauna inside the house. There is an unbeatable view of the island in the middle of the lake. The sunset at this property is absolutely breath taking. This truly is a 4 seasons house. The swimming and fishing in this lake are incredible. There is also a full volleyball court to enjoy for family fun right outside the house. We also have Kayaks and a paddle board at the house. In the summer and fall we do have pontoon and Jet ski rentals available. The fall offers beautiful colors all around the lake. There is also plenty to see and do in the area. There is Elk viewing and Elk tours that are only 10 mins away at Thunder Bay Golf Resort. There is an amazing apple orchard with tons to offer and see about 30 mins away at Knaebe's Apple Farm & Cider works. There are also miles of walking trails at beautiful Ocqueoc falls. An awesome sight for any adventurer and outdoor enthusiast. In the winter at this property, you will be able to enjoy a fireplace in the living room to warm up at. There are also tons of snowmobile trails in the area. The trailhead for snowmobiles is only 5 miles away. The ice fishing in the winter is great on the lake. Within a 10-minute drive you can also be at 3 different lakes in the area. You can also cross-country ski around the lake in the winter and there is also plenty of hills in the area to go sledding down. There is also Thunder Bay winery and Austin Brothers brewing company in the area for other attractions around. Endless possibilities at his up north escape. Summer months this property accommodates 10 people and the Winter months it accommodates 6.

Great winter getaway!

We had a fabulous stay! We loved the location close to snowmobile trails and enjoyed the hot tub! Would definitely recommend it and stay there again!

This is a wonderful cottage. The home is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Having kayaks and paddle boards to use as well as a pontoon to rent was really great. The lake is clear and the setting is beautiful! Would love to come back!

Absolutely perfect vacation for family! Owners are so responsive and helpful. Jet ski was a big hit! Very clean and beds are super comfortable. Listening to the loons morning and evening was a big highlight.

4 day weekend

Very enjoyable property, well thought out amenities. We enjoyed the kayaks and the pontoon boat, as well as relaxing at the house. The kitchen has everything and there are plenty of towels. Very nice stay.

Perfect Weekend Getaway !

The property was clean and exactly as described. Included many amenities to keep us busy our entire stay. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and very communicative for an easy check in and check out. Wonderful neighbors as well ! Would absolutely recommend coming here with friends and family anytime !

2nd stay was just as great as first.

Property is everything you would expect an up north, lake life to be. Air conditioning was amazing! Long lake is quiet and not a busy sports lake at all. Loved it. Already planning next summers stay.

Perfect for families

The best spot for the 10 of us to unwind and relax. The kids had a blast jumping off the dock. We didn’t need to leave the house everything we needed was right there. The views were beautiful and the water crystal clear. Thanks so much!!

Perfect Lakehouse Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay The location on Long Lake is premier Accommodations were excellent the house had everything we needed. The hot tub, sauna and jet ski rental were a hit with the whole family. The hosts are wonderful People, very friendly and helpful with questions about the area. I highly recommend, we will be back in 2023!

Great vacation set up!

Everything was great on the trip! The house is just like the pictures show. Hot tub and sauna both are fantastic. Pontoon boat ran perfect. Everything was great! I recommend this property to anyone wanting an up north lake vacation.

Long Weekend Get Away

The house is perfectly positioned on the lake with a tremendous view and lake access. Matt and Liz are perfect hosts and responsive to any inquiries. Everything you could want is at your finger tips; sauna, hot tub, sand volleyball, kayaks, dock, rental pontoon and jet ski available. Perfect Northern Michigan get away.

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. The beds were very comfortable in the cottage and in the small cabin. There is not air in The small cabin but we slept fine with the windows open and fan on. We had an issue with the dishwasher dying but Matthew had it replaced the next day. We rented the pontoon and jet ski and had a wonderful time with both.

Enjoyed our family time

Beautiful lake with a new dock right on the water. The kayaks, paddle board, fire pit and volleyball all added to the fun. The jet ski was a hit. The house was very clean and had everything you need.

Fun in the up north sun

Three generations all enjoyed everything this home had to offer. The accommodations were even nicer than the pictured. The lake and sunsets were gorgeous. I hate to highly recommend this home because I fear it may not be available for us to return next time! :)

Great Winter Retreat!

A group of friends and I booked this amazing home for a New Years Eve stay. The home was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable, hot tub was clean, and Wi-Fi and TV’s worked great! The gas fireplace was amazing in the cold Michigan winter! Owner meet us on site to go over all the details of the home, which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Great Hosts

Our family enjoyed this property for 5 days. The home is very clean and comfortable. The clean big hot tub was a huge hit, a real asset as we encountered a few cooler/rainy days. The hosts were very easy to communicate with; always very responsive and accommodating. Long Lake is a clean clear body of water. Lovely location. Highly recommended. Thank you Liz and Matt.

Perfect Weekend Away!

Our group of friends decided on a whim to book a trip away together for Labor Day Weekend. We stumbled upon the listing for this house (were shocked that it was still available based on the listing) and immediately booked it! The property is amazing and exactly as described in the listing. We used just about all of the amenitites that were offered - from the kayaks to the paddle board to the jet ski. The property manager is very friendly and easy to reach if you have any questions. I'm hoping that we are able to rent this cabin again in the future - it was the perfect spot for a long weekend.

Beautiful cottage and view

It was a beautiful place! Great location to do some exploring since there was no ice to ice fish! Can’t help the weather! Great view of the lake, cozy, loved the decor!! Hot tub was a hit, it could have been a little fuller to be able to run jets on full speed without a lot of people in it! Also maybe leave a few laundry detergent to wash towels while we are there! Had none to wash some towels from being in and out of the hot tub! But every everything about the place was great.. with the gas fireplace made it even more cozy! would definitely rent again!
