Heronbrook Retreat is a spacious six-bedroom country home in rural Bedfordshire, England, sleeping up to 20 guests and set on two private, gated acres with a heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. Whether you're a multigenerational family visiting from overseas, a group of friends making the most of the English countryside, or a family gathering for a milestone occasion, Heronbrook has been designed to feel like a home from home with generous and comfortable spaces.

Location and getting here:
Heronbrook Retreat is ideally located for both UK and international guests. London city centre is approximately one hour by road, or around 45 minutes by direct train from Bedford station. Luton Airport is around 30 minutes away, making it a really convenient group retreat for those flying into the UK. London Heathrow and Stansted are both reachable within 90 minutes. Once you're here, you'll have easy access to Bedford town centre (15 minutes), Rushden Lakes shopping and dining (15 minutes), and a wide range of local activities all while being tucked away in a peaceful, private setting.

The house:
Set behind electric gates, Heronbrook Retreat is a well-designed, high-quality home built with large groups in mind. From the moment you arrive, it has a warm, homely feel with a real sense of space and comfort. Underfloor heating runs throughout the ground floor and the communal areas are large enough for everyone to be together without it ever feeling crowded.

The kitchen is fully equipped for group self-catering with everything you need to cook and eat together around the dining room table. It's open plan with an island and connected to the living room, and opens directly into the garden. If you'd prefer not to cook, we can arrange a private chef, on-site catering or recommend excellent local restaurants for the group.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms:
Heronbrook has six bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom, plus an additional washroom on the ground floor. Bedrooms can be arranged as super king doubles or twin rooms prior to arrival, so you can configure them to suit your group exactly which makes it ideal for multigenerational families or mixed groups. The lounge also has a double sofa bed, sleeping two additional guests if needed.

The Pool & Gardens:
The outdoor space is one of the most loved features of Heronbrook Retreat. During the months of May to October you'll have private access to a heated outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers, a hot tub (available all year round) and two acres of open private garden. There's a gas BBQ for summer evenings, a table with parasol and chairs for al-fresco dining, and plenty of lawn space for games, activities or simply letting children run freely.

Parking:
Secure off-road parking for approximately 10 vehicles, behind electric gates on the property.

We love helping you plan your time. Whether you're looking for nearby family-friendly attractions, adrenaline experiences at Santa Pod Raceway (15 minutes away), premier golf, clay shooting (5 minutes down the road), countryside walks or a private chef to cook a meal at Heronbrook, just ask us.

On-site Yoga & Wellness Studio:
Heronbrook is also home to a lovely purpose-built on-site studio, available for yoga, dance, fitness sessions or wellness workshops with a visiting instructor. Again, just let us know what you're interested in and we can let you know what's available and prices.

Security Deposit

Please note there is a mandatory security deposit due 1 week prior to your check-in.

A security deposit is a good behaviour bond that is ring-fenced in your account on the week that you check-in. The security deposit is to encourage guests to keep the property clean and tidy and leave it as it is found. It's also to deter any damages or noise complaints.

Providing there are no damages or complaints, the funds ring-fenced in your account will be automatically released back to you 7-10 days after check-out. You will be sent further information regarding the security deposit post-booking.
