"This is a hotel that is 115 years old, and sometimes it reminds you of that, even though it’s one of the most charming corners in Seattle. My room was clean, and special outlets had been installed for modern electronics, but it was rather an ergonomic disaster. The floors were uneven. It had insufficient light. "Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Wonderful lobby space for all ages. Breakfast was exceptional and great value for money. Kids eat free. Good quality coffee. Very comfortable bed. Best location for any events near sports stadiums! Our new go to!"

"The bed was fine, but the room had not been cleaned well. The curtain fell off the wall and was not repaired during my stay, despite my request. There was also a motion-sensor light outside the window above the bed that repeatedly turned on throughout the night, which was disturbing. There's no way to deadbolt the door from the inside so that it can't be opened from the outside with a key, which made me feel uneasy. I'd say this is a fine stay for a man, but not a woman on her own."

Hotel staff at check-in assured me no room was guaranteed after requesting a nicer room based off the price I paid vs what was advertised & what most were paying. "We stayed in the Jr Suite and it was fantastic. Great water views, everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Our room was extremely quiet, several sets of curtains for privacy and keeping the room dark, all of the staff was helpful and friendly, and we loved the location. We easily walked to the stadiums for a game one night, and concert the following. Lots of dining options within walking distance, and Pike Place Market is just up the street."

"It’s a lovely property however the quality of bed linens and mattress were not worthy of a 5 star hotel. The sheets felt like a stiff synthetic material and there were lumps on the mattress. Dinner at Shuckers was expensive but delicious with great service. Subtracted a star for the bed linens and mattress, needs improvement."

"Clean rooms and present staff. Location was close to waterfront but surrounding streets not the best area. The breakfast was convenient. Waffles were very delicious! However being central does mean the nightlife can be loud and heard through the windows in the room. Styling of hotel is 1900s but can look dated."

"we showed up for 2 rooms and one room had a squatter who would not leave so we had to share a single bed with a roll away instead of the double we paid for. Two elevators were out which made it hard to get to and from rooms. Lastly, someone left 2 yapping dogs in a room next to one of ours … luckily we got moved, but it was a stressful check in."
