Esta acogedora casa se encuentra en el pequeño pueblo de Grottoes, Virginia, ubicado entre la sombra de un viejo roble, arce y pinos. Se encuentra en aproximadamente tres acres con un gran campo detrás de la casa donde los niños pueden correr y jugar. En la primavera y el verano, tendrás la oportunidad de disfrutar del jardín de rosas en el patio trasero. Mi padre falleció en marzo de 2017 y dejó atrás el viejo hogar. Pasó muchas horas en su jardín de rosas y disfrutó entregándoselos a su esposa en el hogar de ancianos. Desde su muerte, he renovado por completo esta hermosa casa antigua en Dogwood Ave y también he comenzado a aprender el arte de cultivar rosas. A mi padre le encantaba ayudar a los demás y amaba a las personas, y sigo la tradición de ayudar a los demás ofreciéndoles un lugar donde la gente pueda irse, relajarse y descansar. Hay dos preciosas habitaciones; uno de los cuales tiene dos camas de latón antiguo. Hay una habitación especial en memoria de mi padre, que era un ávido cazador y pescador. Además, hay juegos para todas las edades y muchos libros y recuerdos para disfrutar. La cocina tiene un aspecto moderno y retro. Hay una vieja mesa de fórmica roja con capacidad para cuatro. También puede sentarse y disfrutar de la gran pantalla de televisión mientras está sentado en el bar de la cocina. Hay una estación de café completamente amueblada con café y té para elegir.

Not only was the house immaculately clean, but stocked with all the little things that we needed for our stay. Karen was so kind to leave eggs, biscuits, and a variety of coffees for us. It was a great start to our first morning. I enjoyed feeling at home and being able to cook dinners for our family after the day of skiing. I would definitely visit again!

fantastic stay in peaceful setting. Karen may the stay extra enjoyable with coffee options and creamers! Nice and quiet after an enjoyable JMU football game. We especially enjoyed the nearby fire trail which is part of the Shenendoah National Park, and Grand Caverns. We will be back! Best of wishes to Karen on her upcoming wedding! Karen was a wonderful host and made staying so easy. The home was extremely clean, comfy beds and cute decor. The neighborhood was very peaceful. We were there for JMU parents weekend. JMU was only 20 minutes away and you could take back road in without getting on I81.

The moment I walked in the door, I immediately felt at home. The space is both spacious and cozy. The furniture is very comfortable, including the bed. I enjoyed sipping my morning coffee on the porch. I’m planning to return next year! Karen, the owner, was attentive and checked in to ensure everything was going well. I appreciated the eggs and biscuits she provided. I highly recommend staying here; the neighborhood is nice, and the surroundings are beautiful.

Super homey

This was our last leg of our family road trip. Only stayed for 2 nights. But the house felt just like home all the amenities that we were looking for to just relax after long drive. And the owner even left some amazing extras which made it easy for us since we didn’t have to go to the store. We were able to enjoy caverns and a trail all within a 10 mins drive.

Lovely Commencement Weekend

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely rental home in Grottoes, Virginia for our daughter’s graduation from JMU, and it was absolutely perfect. The home is beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout, and the furniture is so comfortable—it immediately felt like a peaceful retreat.Its location was ideal: close enough to Harrisonburg that we could easily get back and forth for graduation events, but far enough away that we completely avoided the traffic and chaos that comes with a big university celebration weekend. It was the best of both worlds.Everything in the home was spotless, and all the little amenities made our stay especially comfortable. One of my favorite moments was walking the property with my stepmother, admiring the lovely landscaping and the variety of plants around the yard—it’s clearly cared for with love and attention to detail.The surrounding area is so quiet and serene, and we hadn’t realized how close it was to Grand Caverns—what a hidden gem! We’re already hoping to return and spend more time exploring all this area has to offer.Communication with the owner was outstanding—clear, prompt, and polite throughout the entire process. It made the entire experience even more enjoyable.Highly recommend!

JMU Family Weekend

A quick twenty minute escape from the hustle and bustle of JMU Family Weekend. The house was clean, easy to access, and very comfortable. The host even went out of her way to contact us before arrival to help us avoid flooding since we were driving through the remainder of a hurricane.

Karen’s home was immaculate & welcoming - no complaints at all!! Great bucolic location near parks & farmland yet only about 20 minutes to Harrisonburg. We especially loved the mid-century American styling motif - retro-look but fully modern kitchen & some neat pieces in the living room. Would definitely book another stay!

Perfect For Weekend Getaway

Stayed here over the weekend with my wife, sister, and brother-in-law to go to Massanutten. Location was perfect! Very quiet area. Not far from Harrisonburg where we went out one night. We also enjoyed the sidewalk access where we were able to walk down to a local bar and 7-Eleven another night. Owner is very accommodating. Aside from having fresh towels for all of us, she also had some eggs and biscuits in the fridge for us to prepare for breakfast both mornings we stayed. Bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, and kitchen were all very clean. The whole house is cozy. We will definitely consider staying here again!
