  • A few kilometres downstream from Lake Taupo the river changes to some rapids for a short distance. When the rapids finish there is a drop which creates a waterfall. It all ends with this scene which is stunning. Only a 30 second walk from the car park to the river this shot was taken about a 5 minute walk further downstream on the main track at sunrise.

A very unique and somewhat quirky building on expansive wooded grounds. Non conventional structure incorporating exposed welded iron beams, glassed in common area on the main floor that fully opens up to the outside, and lots of reclaimed timber in the floor and trim throughout. Live edge wood counter with an industrial style stainless steel shower stall and sink in the bath. Large central skylight, and wrap around outside decks accessible from the rooms. If you're looking for another standard issue chain hotel room,this isn't it - I really enjoyed it, construction quirks, floor squeaks and all. 😀 Nice staff and a good continental breakfast as well. 👍

We loved the setting with mature trees and well cared for outdoor area's.The team were welcoming, breakfast was just right in a spacious area with indoor or outdoor options. A solid and characterfilled building ideal with good transport connections, near to the airstrip without the bustle of Central Hamilton. Great option for a meeting or conference as well as an escape

Clean and spacious, and relaxing room with very friendly staff. The venue, the decorations, and the building itself are all so gorgeous! The breakfast every morning was tasty and great to start the day. We stayed two nights but we should stay longer and should enjoy the stay itself more. That was very memorable and relaxing time, thank you so much.

Room was fantastic. The building was amazing and the staff couldn’t be better. We wish that we could have stayed more than one day, really centered our vacation around this property. We will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely fantastic! Loved the size of this room and the fact that there was ample parking. Staff were the epitome of hospitality, so friendly and welcoming! Bed was wonderful! Two things I really enjoyed was the cold water in the fridge and the chocolate that was there upon arrival 😀

The hotel was on a beautiful piece of property. I enjoyed listening to the birds sing. The room was comfortable and the breakfast very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. While the room was warm, the public areas were quite cold. The bathroom shower was great but more lighting and a different sink/faucet combo would be helpful as well as a door. Everything was clean.

Loving peaceful place to stay while in the anrea for work. Easy check in. Large spacious bedroom and bathroom. Note there are stairs to bedrooms. Lovely outdoor area. I also enjoyed the continental breakfast which was included with my room. I would stay again.

Beautiful surroundings and property, the accommodation was lovely and the bed super comfortable, the building is showing signs of needing some TLC but overall it was a lovely building and facilities. Staff were accomodating,a well presented continental breakfast was provided. Our only criticism was the traffic noise which couldnt be helped and the high up window with no way to block out the light. Also there was no lift available which made it difficult to carry heavy cases to our room. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Property was really nice and quiet, surrounded by a lush forest. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, had a good variety. I would suggest more towel hooks in the bathroom. There was only 1 hook that held 2 towels. Also, only 1 chair in the room. Not comfy if you’re a party of two. I ended getting a chair from the dining area. Other than that, this was a nice relaxing stay for us.

The suite was gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. We loved the calm environment and quietness of the property. The rustic charm was unique and a lovely change. Breakfast was adequate and enjoyable. The lady who checked us in early was really accommodating which enabled us to leave our luggage in the room and set off to clean the hire car which was very helpful and time saving for us, and much appreciated. Only minor, but curtain hook on one window needs fixing into the track as we had to place a chair there in order to block out the light and give us privacy.
