The château will comfortably accommodate up to 14 people (plus 1 cot available) and prices start from less than £100 per person per week. Chateau d'Hambye is the perfect destination for a relaxing and satisfying holiday or corporate retreat, and a wonderful location for your wedding day and other celebrations.

Chateau d'Hambye is a splendid 18th century, seven bedroom French chateau situated within the small rural village of Hambye in Manche, Normandy, France. Recently restored to great luxury the chateau is set in a stunning location within eight acres of parkland which overlooks rolling countryside. The gardens within the grounds of the château offer open spaces and several seating areas as well as a private enclosed walled garden which is home to a 112sqm (7m x 7m) swimming pool, a BBQ area, and an all weather table tennis table.

The chateau is equipped with seven bedrooms consisting of five double rooms, two twin rooms and six bathrooms, some of which are en-suite. The ground floor level offers a large kitchen-diner with working fireplace, a large lounge, a separate room with billiards table, a separate dining room, a utility room / second kitchen area, a lavatory and the two beautiful staircases which lead to the upper levels.

The chateau is fully furnished with all the necessary equipment for preparing and serving meals as well as cleaning and drying clothes. The utilities include a large double-oven range-cooker with extractor, a microwave oven, a toaster, a fridge, a freezer, and washing machine,All bed linen is also supplied.

The Chateau d'Hambye is easily accessible and within easy reach of several ferry ports and airports within the Normandy region. Although we are within the heart of rural Normandy we are just twenty minutes from the glorious sandy beaches to the west and major towns such as St Lo, Vire, Villedieu, Avranches, and Granville are just a short car journey. Within walking distance of the chateau is a supermarket, restaurants, bars and other shops.

Wonderful holiday for three generations aged 1.5 to 70!

There was plenty of space for 16 of us ( including 4 children and 2 babies) with lots of options for sitting inside - quietly (or not!). The outdoor space was fabulous with a generously sized table and plenty of chairs overlooking the sloping lawn which was perfect for ball games. Sadly the sun did not shine that much for us so we were not able to sit by the outdoor pool. The indoor pool was perfect for the children as some of them were unable to swim unaided. By the end of the week they were quite proficient and so much more confident. The donkeys were a great attraction for the children. The early morning walk to the patisserie was a highlight for all those who wanted croissants and the market on Tuesday morning provided delicious vegetables and fruit. Trips to local beaches - Montmartin-sur-Mer, Coutanville and Blainville-sur-Mer (with its fascinating oyster beds) were a highlight although check the tide first - low tide is very far out. Champrepus zoo was perfect for the children and the Tuesday market and copper pots at Villedieu-les-Poeles provided entertainment for all of us. We walked to Abbaye d'Hambye and were fascinated by its history. Anna and Rob were very friendly and approachable. They dealt with an issue we had very promptly.

A lovely week in Normandy

A beautiful house with brilliant facilities, including outdoor and indoor pool, table tennis, pool table, BBQ and pretty gardens. The check-in process with Anna and Rob was very smooth. The area is great, with beaches and historical sites within easy reach and the house is in a village with a lovely bakery and small supermarket. We had a great week, thank you!

Super séjour !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce super chateau ! C'était très propre, bien équipé et le contact avec l'hôte s'est super bien passé (livraison de bois tous les jours pour le poêle et le bain nordique). C'était le lieu parfait pour passer la nouvelle année (aussi bien pour les adultes que les enfants). Nous recommandons à 100%, merci encore !

Un week-end inoubliable, magnifique et cadre très agréable et verdoyant

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end au chateau d'hambye. Le cadre est magnifique et très bien entretenu. Les chambres sont spacieuses et chacune a sa salle de bain ce qui était impeccable pour tout le groupe d'amis. La cuisine est super bien équipée. Les services proposés comme le bain nordique, la piscine chauffée, le jacuzzi...... étaient au top pour nos invités. Le dialogue est vraiment bien passé avec Anna et robert , ils sont très accueillant, sympathique et serviables. Un très bon week-end au château

Le château et les extérieures sont très sympas et bien aménagés. Le centre du village est à 2 pas et dispose de tous les commerces nécessaires. Les hôtes sont très agréables et disponibles si besoin, un grand merci. Juste une petite precision qui peut être utile : il y a un cheval et des ânes (très gentils) sur la propriété.

Very nice well equipped chateau

Anna and Rob have done a fine job renovating the place. While everywhere in the house you are aware that the place is 250 years old, it still has all the facilities you could ask for like a proper bathroom with every room, a spacious kitchen with all necessary utensils, a tv/sitting room, a room with a pool table. The indoor pool was enjoyed very much by the kids, while it was a bit too cold still for the outdoor pool. The extra hot tub is a really nice recent addition. All in the center of a small village, with a small supermarket and all small shops at walking distance.

Accueil tout simplement parfait les hôtes sont adorables. Le château est vraiment au top nous étions 13 personnes et on a vraiment tous adoré le week-end!! Nous aurions juste du venir pour 1 semaine pour en profiter encore plus! Merci encore!!

endroit superbe, idéal pour vacances ou réunion de famille

très beau manoir, très bien restauré. Belle salle principale avec avec partie cuisine et table à manger carré de 12 places. Tout confort, piscine intérieure et extérieure. Etions 13 personnes à Noel et c'était parfait. Propriétaires très accueillants et très sympa ! Nous y retournerons.

Encore un excellent week-end

J'ai eu l'occasion de passer 2 week-end dans cette propriété magnifique avec des amis, une fois en Automne, une fois en Hiver. le Château est idéalement situé au sein même du village ce qui est très pratique. Il est très convivial, notamment cette immense cuisine avec sa cheminée et sa grande table. La salle de billard est aussi très sympa. Les chambres sont souvent spacieuses et chacune a sa propre salle de bains ce qui est top quand on part en groupe. Pour moi le meilleur endroit pour un week-end au vert entre amis. Les propriétaires sont très attentionnés et très sympas

Family holiday August 2019

We were a family party of 12 spanning three generations. The property was as described and did not fail to meet our expectations. We all had ample space and the kitchen diner was the hub for us all. The grounds were both open and safe for our younger family members and the pool area was a massive bonus. The location was excellent with a couple of bars and a small supermarket along with a bakers all within walking distance. Wonderful beaches about 20 mins drive away. We found Anna and Rob to be friendly helpful hosts and appreciate the opportunity to have been able to visit their lovely chateau.

Incredible!

We are a group of 3 families that holiday together multiple times a year. For 5 years each summer we have hired a large house abroad which we all share. Being 6 adults and 8 teenage girls finding a property that suits our requirements is a real challenge... but Chateau D'Hambye ticked every box!!! A wonderful outdoor pool where the girls could swim and play, and adults could relax in the sun OR shade! the indoor pool for when the weather was a bit less sunny (and when it was)… great grounds to play boules and badminton of an evening while we cooked a BBQ and all ate together on the back terrace. The house itself was AMAZING!! Felt like a Queen for a week with 8 princesses! Enough bathrooms and bedrooms for all with loads of space for everyone. the kitchen was a fabulous size and so well equipped we could cook any meal with everyone helping out and chipping in. The utility room was great for storing all the drinks so the chefs were not disturbed when the girls wanted to fill up juice bottles. A beautiful evening was had playing pool, and games in the ground floor rooms, and with the French doors opening to the long grass driveway flanked by trees - you couldn't get a better view to play games with friends and family. Going to bed at night in such grand rooms, and closing all the shutters for the girls was a wonderful treat at the end of the day. The local boulangerie and patisserie was a stones throw from the chateau and the girls enjoyed walking up each day to get fresh bread and cakes, and there is a local store in the village too. Shops such as Lidl and casino are within a short cars drive away and so is a large, quiet, beautiful sandy beach .. with free parking! We couldn't have had a more perfect week in a more perfect location/accommodation. In fact it was that amazing we have booked for next year too! Rob and Anna are two of the most lovely hosts you could wish for. They are on hand if you need them and are a lovely couple. Hopefully next year we will have a drink or two with them too! Highly recommended property for any occasion - especially if you want long life memories to treasure - we sure have!
