The location was great, and the place was clean, we were just a bit thrown off that the location was part of an existing Bed and Breakfast, but without access to any of the B&B perks. We also booked the site because it said the Main bedroom was on the Main floor (my in-laws have trouble with stairs), but we missed the note in the site information that indicated that the Main floor for this site actually required going up a set of stairs to get to this level. Lastly, the site information said the booking included one parking spot in the lot, but since this is part of a B&B, all the spots (4-5 spots) were taken by other guests, leaving us with either street parking or parking in front of the garage (and then getting blocked in by other guests). Overall the site was a great location, we just wish we had been more aware of this other information before booking so we could make sure the unit checked all of our boxes.

There are many positives about this stay. The host was very responsive on any questions or issues we had. It is in a great location, just a few blocks from the center of Half Moon Bay's lovely downtown. The check-in/check-out information was great, and we appreciated the local recommendations. The beds were very comfortable, with nice linens and lots of pillows. The kitchen was well-stocked.A few negatives. There was a food smell in the kitchen that lingered throughout our stay. The place is part of and shares the outside space with a bed and breakfast, and there were frequently B&B guests using the courtyard. The entrance to the unit (via a staircase up, and a long way from parking) is in a shared foyer that also opens to the B&B kitchen and laundry area, which was a bit strange. The floors were sticky because they had been mopped with a product that left a sticky residue. There is a swim school next door and there often were the loud sounds that children make in a pool. There also was construction noise during the day during the weekdays of our stay, apparently from work on part of the B&B.

I was not aware that there was a flight of stairs to climb in order to access the property. I am semi-disabled, so this was a real issue. Also consider getting grab bars for the tub. I had a very hard time getting out. otherwise things were fine.

Great Half Moon Bay home base
What a great find! Perfect space for our family. We love the shops and restaurants in HMB and being right on Main St. made this the perfect home base for wandering the town and also hopping over to the beach. Look forward to visiting again.

Family HMB Weekend
Everything was awesome. I think the only thing that could be improved was the communication on the facility and available amenities. We didn’t realize that this was part of a B&B. When we tried to share some of the services provided downstairs, we were told that we were not allowed to use any of those items. We had no coffee in our place for the second morning but were unable to use any of the beverages or items provided downstairs. Just a little awkward on what we were able to use that wasn’t provided in our room.

Good location just ok amenities
Good location to walk for restaurants. Excluded from breakfast and evening snack. Rug in the living area was grubby huge stain on the sofa, wasn’t sure what it was so kept a towel on it. No lamp in the living room and the overhead light was super bright so if someone was sleeping I couldn’t sit and read We’ve stayed at quite a few VRBO properties and this is the first one that has been a disappointment.

A cute cozy stay at Half Moon Bay
Very cozy and clean home in the heart of downtown HMB. The home was clean, good lighting, and sleeps up to 8. The location was perfect for a small walk to delicious eats. We had dinner at Moon Pasta and brunch at Moon Bakery. Both places were very delicious and a 2 minute walk from the stay. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous Property
Really enjoyed this property. It is a separate unit that is part of a B&B. The unit is perfect for a family of four with a great loft space with two beds. Fantastic location in the heart of Half Moon Bay. Walking distance to food and shopping with a short drive to the beach. Would stay here again.

Great cozy place in HMB
The Penthouse is an off-shoot of the "Nantucket Whale Inn" and is great way to stay in downtown HMB. We had family visiting the Bay Area, and it was just what we needed. Clean, surprisingly spacious, and perfectly located. The town centers around Main Street, so you're right in the heart here: great if you want a walking accessible option for food and sight-seeing nearby. The listing mentions a wine-tasting, but the staff was quick remind us that, despite the listing, this perk was just for the B&B guests, that "the penthouse is *only* a VRBO, not part of the B&B" adding to odd feeling of walking around back to get in, as not to enter the actual Inn. Not deal-breakers and overall, in a town where larger accommodations are at a premium, we'd certainly go back.

Family HMB overnight trip
Beautiful spacious place tucked in the back off the street. Easy to find and decorated nicely. Very comfy beds and up to date. Our only problem was a clogged shower and it’d be great if there was a dishwasher. All worth the price and would recommend and visit again. The fire pits on the private gated patio were a nice bonus. Nice and quiet clean place.

Half Moon Holiday
My daughter, her mil, my dil, and 2 granddaughters and i take an annual Girls' Weekend. We stayed here
last time. Lovely. Easy walk to restaurants, shopping.
