"This was a surprisingly great place. The room was great, the breakfast was good, the location was good with lots of trees, the staff excellent, and they even had a fire pit and good pool to allow people to interact day and night. We were very pleased as we were using the booking to evaluate the place and would be happy to go back."

"It was not what we expected because of the photos on the website. The views are pretty nice and the room and bathroom were clean. But the rest of the hotel was in degraded condition, like missing serious maintenance. All the outdoor furniture was old and rusty. The swimming-pool was horrible, the bottom was green because of the scaling paint and it was not appealing at all. "

"The Stavrand is an exceptional property; right away it is noticeable how the staff cares about their patrons. They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location is an easy drive to any winery and walkable to downtown Guerneville for food and drink; be sure to hit up the local bank turned into an ice cream shop! "

"If you want to try glamping this is a nice location to do it. The area is far enough away to be rural with only a few blocks walk to downtown and great places to eat. One recommendation I would have for the location. Is to go over the rules of the property with everyone and provide a phone number when there is an issue. "We stayed in a teeny-tiny cabin. Nice shower with nice products. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Nice bed! Two burner stovetop and mini fridge. Fire pit and picnic bench in front of each cabin. Just a few steps to Johnson’s Beach. Just a few blocks from Safeway and restaurants. La Bodeguita Mexican restaurant is a MUST. Property manager Chris is very kind and helpful. "
