"The minute I stepped through the door of this hotel, I was instantly drawn to its old Xiguan charm—not the cheap, forced kind of vintage you sometimes see, but the real deal. The Manchurian windows cast soft, elegant light into the space, and the patterned floor tiles had a nice texture underfoot; even small decor pieces in the corners felt like little tributes to old Guangzhou. My parents loved it even more. They kept pointing out little details as we walked around, saying it was so much cozier...

"It is 1930s historical magistic building. It keeps its magnificant period look and inside fitted with adequte modern furnishing, air conditioning and clean bedding and room. For $60 a night, that is a steal. I was originally expecting $120-to 14o a night. Good value. Highly recommended."
