Thanksgiving visit: The house was large, clean, and well decorated. The views from the front-facing windows were fantastic from sunrise to sunset. The bedrooms and beds were all very comfortable. The bathrooms, one per bedroom, were well equipped and clean. The TV room downstairs was great for movies. The heating worked well.The kitchen was large enough with good counter space but there were serious issues in the kitchen. The stove: oven does not maintain temperature; it varied between 380 and 180 when set to 325 (thermostat not working). Verified with our ThermoWorks temperature probe. Our turkey was very unevenly cooked (we had probes in the breast and thigh). We got some overcooked breast meat and some cooked leg meat; rest was not cooked. If left in longer, the cooked meat would be way overcooked. Many burners needed to be lit manually. The dishwasher: The door hinge was damaged so the door catch was not lined up and would not close. I was able to manipulate the door so that the catch lined up so it could be forced closed. We continued to use it this way. (This was the third Vacasa rental in a row at Sea Ranch where the dishwasher did not work.)Cleaners should notice and report broken items.The two buttons on the mortise lock are automatically set to the lock position when the key is used to unlock the front door. If you close the door and go outside, you are locked out.We would certainly rent and recommend this place if the kitchen appliances were guaranteed to work.

Just like the listing photos!

The house was so comfy we felt right at home. The views were amazing and loved how secluded we felt. There was enough room for everywhere and I particularly loved how spread out the rooms were. I've already recommended this house to people.

Great location, just rundown and dirty

Needs a rental overhaul, many things not working. Including locks on doors electronics and main fireplace.Mouse poop all over the whole house, window seals, under cushions on sofas, it was gross Carpet torn and badly stained, Internet was unreliable so the TV didn’t work but the views made up for the lack of TV. Good location to cooks beach.Overall disappointed in the rental and quality of the house itself

Mesmerizing Views, deferred maintenance

Can’t beat the views and three couples can stay quite comfortably in privacy and community. Excellent kitchen space, comfortably heated, sliding doors are working, and a new dishwasher is much appreciated. When our friends arrived partway through our stay (Tuesday) we discovered that a bathroom sink was not delivering hot water. I called the Vacasa number and eventually the local office got in touch to say they would take care of it. Not hearing from them, I called the next afternoon to be informed that our problem was “on their radar.” The trash had also not been picked up on Tuesday, the day that the literature at the house suggested it be put out for removal. The Vacasa office said their handyman would pick up some trash to make room for ours. The trash people came Friday, and I’m so grateful to solid waste of Willits. Vacasa never followed up on the trash or the sink. Our valued guest washed her face and hands in cold water for the duration. We will come back to this house but we are well prepared for disappointment and expectations for service are low. Needs go unmet, communication does not exist, the carpet gets filthier and filthier, but the view is incomparable and the house is so comfortable. I wish I could quit you, Vacasa. All you needed to do was call me and say,sorry we can’t come out to fix the sink until after your week at the house is over?

Renter beware

Floor plan and location great. Property needs a serious deep, deep cleaning, many repairs are needed in interior and exterior. Many things not sanitized and downright gross. Property description and photos are not current or accurate. Property hard to find due to hidden address signs.

Amazing views

Gorgeous views of the ocean! Very short walk down to Cooks Beach. Super close to a little town with a couple of grocery stores and restaurants.

Magical

This ocean front home with its 180 degree views was a heavenly place to view Gods creation, relax, and vacation. It’s comfortable, peaceful and provided all we needed. We enjoyed Point Arena lighthouse and our beautiful drive on PCH.

Although there were many maintenance issues, we looked at the magnificent views from all the windows, architectural construction, comfortable beds and furniture, ability to use tv and our streaming devices, well stocked kitchen and had a fabulous time.

The View 5 stars, the House not so much!!

The view is spectacular, if you can see out of the dirty windows. Several points listed with pictures to follow. 1. Garbage scattered in front of house 2. Garbage & recycling cans nearly full before we arrived 3. Cobwebs were evident throughout the property, inside and out. We cleaned cobwebs on deck area, deck light and window. There were also webs on some of inside light fixtures with dead bugs. 4. Carpeted areas, especially in hallway stairs from garage to the main floor, were stained to the point we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot on them. 4. Screen doors, one porch door and some windows were broken/non-functional. - Screen door on the downstairs bedroom was off track - Screen door to the deck came off track several times making it difficult to go back and forth - Door near master bedroom was locked, unable to open and enjoy sunset from that deck - Left window over kitchen sink got stuck/unable to open 5. 2nd bathroom on main floor was missing towel rack and in need of a paint job. 6. 3rd bathroom in downstairs bedroom toilet appear to back up, needed to plunge to keep it flushed 7. Huge stain on couch facing window in main living room 8. Tear in downstairs chair in den. Did not want to use for further potential damage. Overall, the pictures that advertised this property do not reflect the current condition of the house. This house needs alot of work and we felt the price paid was not worth the trouble & work. Will email pics to substantiate claim.

Gorgeous, little misses on maintenance

This house is more gorgeous than its pictures show -- huge and amazing views of the ocean and sun from morning til night. Exceeded expectations on that front! On the other hand, there were were problems with doors that didn't open to the outer decks and cobwebs that were sort of baffling. Not 100% up to par on some minor maintenance stuff that added some small dissonance to the overall splendor of the place.

Spring Break stay

We’ve stayed here three years in a row, love the location and all the space for our extended family group. There are some maintenance issues that need attention, such as the sliding door to the patio not locking and the screen being broken, the cabinet in the kitchen being broken and swinging off the hinge, two of the fireplaces not working, etc…but, overall, we do like it here and the location can’t be beat. Just a little TLC is all it needs!

Daughter’s bday

We came to this new home to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We enjoyed this place very much. The decorations were beautiful and the views were nice. Everything was conveniently located which made it easy to get where we need to go and back at a decent time. The only down fall was the dirty cup with lipstick still on it and trash under the chair in lower level room. The back door was very hard to open. The most of the windows would not open. The fireplace wasn’t working properly. Thank you

Great house; incredible view, needs upkeep

This is an amazing house! The view undeniably is incredible. This house needs some love...landscaping/yard are WAY overgrown (you have to duck under an overgrown tree to get to the front door), door locks/latches don't work and some doors were completely unopenable, garage keypad (secondary entry) is non functional, windows don't open (trust me you WANT to hear the Pacific waves on the shore), no telescope as in photos, binoculars were broken, several burners on stove don't light, carpet is disgusting (sorely in need of replacement). Again, this is an amazing house, but I feel we way overpaid given the condition that it's in.

Beautiful location poorly cared for and cleaned

The house itself is in a lovely location, with a gorgeous view of the ocean from almost every room. The bones and layout of the house are also great. That alone made the trip great. But the house was incredibly dirty. Dirty pans, dirty windows, food all over the floor in the downstairs (popcorn pieces, and chunk of hald eaten tortilla, a dirty sock, and empty plastic bottle), dust and grime under the beds, dust on many of the blankets, a small pull out futon full of crumbs, pieces of little trash here and there, uncleaned windows that compromised the view, and on and on. I have 20 plus pictures. Also, the kitchen is set up with just a hodgepodge of pots and pans stored in a completed disorganized way, knifes that have not been sharpened in years, non-functioning gas fireplace in living room, several lights that didn't work... The place is just poorly cared for. They offered a $75 reduction on the cleaning fee, which was a very small compared to what they charge. We had a great time regardless, but for what was a very expensive place , to have the house so poorly cared for was incredibly disappointing.
