  • Beautiful apartment house "Chalet Smaragd". In the district of Gydisdorf, 200 m from the centre, excellent location: right in the centre but still quiet, south facing position. For shared use: natural pond. In the house: lift, storage room for skis, central heating system, washing machine, tumble dryer. Linen change weekly. In Winter: please take snow chains. Communal covered parking. Grocery 350 m, supermarket, shopping centre 700 m, restaurant, bar, bicycle rental 200 m, 2 minute walk to the centre, bus stop "Firstbahn" 200 m, railway station "Grindelwald Dorf" 850 m, outdoor swimming pool 2.5 km, indoor swimming pool 800 m. Golf course (9 hole) 1.5 km, tennis 1 km, minigolf 350 m, sports centre 800 m, mountain railway 850 m, gondola lift, ski rental, ski bus stop 200 m, cross country ski track 1 km, ice rink, children's playground 800 m. Well-known ski regions can easily be reached: Thuner-/Brienzersee 18 km. Please note: ski bus (free of charge). The keys‘ handover takes place by the agency Interhome in Grindelwald. Einmal mehr waren wir sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft im Chalet Abendrot bzw. Chalet Smaragd.

Die Wohnung ist sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Die Räume bieten für 2 Personen ausreichend Platz. Die Austattung ist knapp bestückt und bei den Messern sollten alle ersetzt werden. Die Matraze ist durchgelegen und so ungenügend.

We had an amazing time staying here. First...THE VIEW!!! You couldnt ask for a better view. We had the ground floor unit and our view looked directly up at the glacier and 2 mountain peaks. It was jaw dropping every time we walked outside. The apt was clean and furnished with everything you need to get you started for a day. (With the exception of coffee and coffee filters it was perfect.) The chalet does not have A/C but we happened to hit the perfect week in July where it was not to hot during the days and cooled down at night. It had heated floors so anyone going in the winter....it would be perfect. Since it was warm we went down to the Property manager, Agnes, and asked for a fan. She unplugged the one in their office and gave it to us. It was very nice of her to do that. With the fan it was perfect. The location of this unit was perfect as well. Right in the heart of downtown Grindelwald but located where it seemed like you were in the country. So you had the view, privacy, lovely quiet mornings and beautiful little pond to look at in front of your patio. (One suggestion for the owner is to cut down the wonky little tree right in the middle of the patio that blocks your view of the pond. And to top off the tree that is blocking some of the glacier view right in the middle of the patio.) The grocery store is a 5 minute walk. One of the coolest things is the parking underground. Took a minute but we figured it out. All in all 10/10!

Good experience

Would be great if they can give clearer instructions (XXX) of exactly where to find the staff and the lodge. I took us 2 hours to find out. The house itself is superb. Great conditions. Laundry facilities is excellent... although it took us some time to figure out how to use them.

Moderne woning. Goed in centrum gelegen maar wel rustig. Aan te raden. Advies: gooi eens een minder dik dekbed op de bedden.

schöne Wohnung, Matratze mangelhaft

Die Wohnung ist insgesamt betrachtet schön und modern. Die Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet, das Wohnzimmer auch. Einziger Minuspunkt: das Bett wurde verschlimmgebessert, da es mit einer "hightech" Matratze mit Oberschicht weichem Schaumgummi ausgestattet.
