Luxurious Chalet in Beautiful White Mountains

Enjoy the best that the White Mountains have to offer in this luxurious 5 bedroom/ 5.5 bath log home built as close to the National Forest as the law allows. Walk to the hiking trails, or cheat and drive the famous Auto Road to the scenic vista atop Mount Washington... just minutes away from your door.

The kids will love Storyland, Santa's Village, Six-Gun City, and the Attitash mountain slide. Or just take them to one of the dozens of great natural swimming holes along the Route 16. With an inner tube, one can travel all the way to North Conway! There is also boating and rafting, with guided trips just a short drive away.

If it's civilization you crave, a 20 minute drive will bring you to North Conway, with its' legendary shopping, spas and restaurants. And some of the most scenic golf you will find anywhere is right here, with championship courses to the north, south, east, and west.

And when you are done enjoying what Mother Nature has provided... when the action stops, and it is time to relax, send the kids off to watch Disney+ on one of the three HDTVs (or just click it old school with DirecTV)

Settle into the hot tub in the spa. Hang out in the bar and catch up on the latest sporting event.

Toast some marshmallows at the fire pit. Make a nice meal in the modern and nicely provisioned kitchen.

Our group had a great stay at Joe's home! The pictures don't do it justice , the home is huge and has tons of things to do like board games, table tennis, a huge garage and a great space for a large group to hangout/relax. The host is very communicative and helpful as well.

Caveat Renter - Filthy spider infested unusable bedrooms and tired furnishings

The house is advertised as a 5+ bedroom house but it had only four usable bedrooms because the 5th bedroom was spider infested and filthy with detritus and garbage left by previous visitors. Furniture and bedding etc is very tired and stained and long overdue for renewal. Owner’s jaw dropping response was to say that spider infestations are to be expected because the home is in a forest, which was a truly remarkable and unexpected statement. The house itself is quite lovely but the furniture and furnishings etc. look old and tired and stained etc. and overdue for refurbishment. And not quite what we expected in a higher end VRBO rental in its price range. In all fairness, owner was always polite and responded quickly, and even sent a technician to fix the refrigerator which didn’t stay cold for first 3 days of rental. He even sent a cleaning person to clean the unusable bedroom which had spiders and other filth and garbage items under and around the bed. However, the owner didn’t resolve the issue and the bedroom was still unusable after a rushed perfunctory effort by the cleaning person, without addressing the issues with usability. At this point, the owner essentially gave up and refused to address the issue and we ended up with our daughter sleeping on an air bed she purchased. We are frequent VRBO renters with top ratings from owners and this was an experience that is totally contrary to what we expected or ever experienced.

Fantastic base to explore Presidential range

A group of 10 friends stayed in this fantastic home for four nights while hiking and relaxing. House even better than photographs. We appreicated the fantastic open kitchen, fire pit, barbecue, incredible open communal spaces for different groups to relax together, ping pong table, and more. Only a few minutes from Gorham by car but quiet, secluded and very peaceful. Well stocked with all essentials for a large group including cooking supplies. Host communication and instructions clear and timely. Would definitely return.

Family Mountain Get Away

The mountain house is located in a beautiful, secluded area. It is only a 5 minute drive to stores, eateries and town beach. Larger attractions are also a short drive away. It has a unique floorplan, lots of seating areas, beautiful stone fireplace, many bathrooms and bedrooms, a large kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit area outside. We had a wonderful family vacation.

Wonderful stay with large group

We stayed for 3 nights with a group of 18 (8 kids/10 adults). We rented the additional basement space as well. The house was vast, with plenty of room for all of us. Attractive bedrooms with plenty of privacy, huge kitchen and living areas. The house also has a ton of bathrooms (6 if you include the basement), which in my opinion is one key to a happy and harmonious family weekend! The house was beautiful, clean, and well appointed with everything we needed. It really is a special place. The photos on the listing don't do justice to the sheer scale and beauty of the place. It should be noted that the home has no wifi, but we all had good cell signal. Peaceful country location with a nice view of the surrounding mountains. WalMart is an easy drive for stocking up. We stayed for the purpose of visiting Santas Village (30 min drive) and the place was just perfect. Would definitely recommend and we hope to stay again!

Excellent house for large families

This is an excellent property, very close to all the attractions near White Mountains. As other reviewers mentioned, the pictures do not do complete justice to the house. House is very spacious and our group of 12 had a very comfortable stay during the Labor Day weekend. Joe is an excellent host and was available for questions during our stay.

Perfect Getaway for a family reunion

We just completed a stay at this property and it was the perfect accommodation for our family reunion. We are a group of 14 people ages 1-65 yrs old and the house was the perfect size for us with plenty of space to stretch out and relax without being on top of one another. We were seeking privacy and nature and this house couldn't have been better for our goals. The home is within 5-10 minutes of some amazing swimming holes and waterfalls that we had to ourselves during a peak time of the year. We visited Emerald Pool (everyday) and Glen Ellis Falls in the Pinkham Notch area (5-10 min away) for swimming and some kid friendly cliff diving. Mt Washington Auto Road is also only a 5 min drive from the home. We also checked out Cathedral Ledge, Diana's Baths and Echo Lake (30 min away). Joe, our host, was very communicative/responsive and sent out detailed information about the best swimming holes, natural wonders, ATV rentals and other activities that could have kept us busy for an entire week. The house is fully stocked with everything you need, we only brought food and drinks and some locally purchased firewood. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, large home for your group and enjoy being surrounded by nature, this home fits the bill!.

Great place for a family gathering

We had our whole family stay, great-grandparents, grandparents, down to the babies. It was great. The kids were upset there was no wi-fi, but that was our plan! We played lots of games on the huge dining table, went for hikes on the many trails nearby and did tons of fishing. It was a great week to disconnect from everything else and reconnect as a family. The teens did love the dart board and the music lights in the garage as well as the ping pong table in the basement (we also rented out the extra space - additional 4 bedrooms). I loved that the house was on a wooded lot it felt like we were so far from the world, yet 6 minutes from the center of town and stores. The only hiccup we had was that we had not gotten the check in code before arrival and we had a little difficulty getting in touch with the owner for about an hour. But before and after that there was great communication, so I consider that a fluke. I would definitely stay there again, it was great!
