Close to Ark Encounter and Creation Museum!

Escape to a tranquil 8 acre retreat which features a unique, one-of-a-kind barn cabin in Glencoe, Ky. With 2 queen beds in 2 bedrooms (each with an adjoining bathroom), guests can unwind in comfort. Relax in the cozy living room and watch a movie or get some work done in the office space with 2 futons. Enjoy all that nature has to offer when your stay at our place. Build a fire in the fire pit and melt s'mores. Walk the hiking path mowed into the back acreage. Pay a visit to the Glencoe General store and taste the delectable wood fired pizza or deli sandwiches made with homemade bread.

25 minute drive to the Ark Encounter and 45 minute drive to the Creation Museum.

The check in process was easy. Our host was very welcoming with any concerns we had.The property was relaxing and peaceful. Our girls enjoyed being able to spend time with the horses and enjoying nature.

Perfect rustic spot for getting to Creation Museum (1hr) and Ark Encounter (25mins). Great for kids and a small dog. Interesting pellet stove to heat the living room. Well insulated and survived a bad thunderstorm and 17 degrees F while staying with 2 young boys, a dog and my wife. Deer in the backyard. Horses in the front yard.

My family and i had a great time! Its a peaceful and beautiful country setting. Kathryn was very kind and helpful with questions about the neighborhood. She has lots of games and kids toys available and even a small dog cage if you bring your fur babies. I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed Dec. 26 - 31st. Greeted by a small Christmas tree in the living room. Was nice touch as we didn't put up a tree at home this year because we would be traveling. Upstairs has a wonderful area to play cards and we enjoyed playing cards in the evening. 2 horses were board at this location so didn't let our city pup run off lead with the horse poop we have a shih tzu long hair and didn't want to be in bathing the pup... But there was plent area to walk the pup on lead.Sites we saw was the usual, Ark and the Creation muesum. but the family's favorite was Church Hill Downs in Louisville, KY was 1 hr 10 min drive to get there but we did the Backside Barn tour and got to see a few race horses that was waiting to be picked up. We got luckly on the tour just us and the tour guide. While the other tours had groups of 50-80 people. The cabin looks like pictured. Only negatie the Lock to the door froze on one day we didn't know to keep the outside doors pulled shut to prevent the lock from freezing and we were challenge to figure out the heater system but there is instructions on the frig and once we followed that we had no issues with the system.The Teenage boy traveling with us LOVE the cabin how rustic it was and having the horse outside. This eneded up being a trip we will never forget. Weather was COLD, saw snow 3 days but didn't accumlate. We were drving a mini van but suggest driving with a 4-wheel drive if going in the winter to be on safe side

This property is truly unique…from the cow bell lights to the bourbon barrel sink in the half bath! The converted barn is roomy yet cozy. The bedrooms were very comfortable and I never ran out of hot water in the shower. Beautiful views with privacy but 15 minutes to restaurants and shopping. Excellent communication with the host. Would definitely stay here again!!

The only recommendation I have to make the stay more convenient, think about stopping for groceries or other necessities prior to arrival. Shopping is very limited. Also, it didn’t appear to have any restaurants close by. It isn’t a deterrent to the place. I just wish we had known!

We enjoyed our stay. The host was friendly and responded quickly to communications. The location was convenient. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the country. It was convenient to have a full kitchen and a living room area to hang out. Loved the back porch also. The were only two downsides to the stay. Sliding barn doors are used for every room. Not all of them closed all the way and gave the privacy desired. The beds are firm. The upstairs bed has an innerspring mattress on a board. This caused some back issues. I realize everyone has their own preferences but since comfortable beds were mentioned in a few other reviews, I wanted to note this. It is the only reason I would not stay here again. It was a great place otherwise.

Check in was 4 pm. But told her we wldnt arrive till 6. We got thr at 5:50 and we werent able to get in till 6:45 because cabin wasnt ready. This was after driving 8 and a half hours. The doors and locks were questionable. Didnt seem safe. We were never told about lawn people showing up and disrupted our stay a bit and day of check out the bug guy came to spray outside.

Our Check-in time was 4pm, which is when we arrived. However, the owner was not ready for us to check-in. While she was friendly, we waited outside for 45 minutes in 90 degrees temperatures until we were aloud to enter.Once entering the house we were disappointed in cleanliness and overall structure. The pictures on Vbro are at angles to miss the many imperfections. Or family come from a long line of carpenters and electrical engineers and we were surprised that the house passed a building code. With visible nails on the steps and boards above the air conditioning unit appeared to be coming off the wall. We thought for sure they were going to fall off while we were watching TV. We took pictures and videos just in case they fell while we were staying there.The house has a lot of potential but personally not up to our standards. A/C worked well and great views of wildlife and beautiful horses!You may want to consider investing in a retractable awning over the deck in the back and blinds for French doors due to the extreme heat.Communication with owner was awesome and the house was better than staying at a hotel! Our visit to the Ark encounter and The Creation Museum was well worth the visit. Blessings to you and yours!
