Sandy Beach Chalet with Fire-pit on the Lake

Summers on the lake, breathtaking tall trees and fall colors, countless winter activities, and cool spring nights around the fire, this chalet-style cottage offers it all. Located on Secord Lake in beautiful Gladwin County. Secord Lake is approximately 815 sq acres and about 40 feet at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to find a variety of fish including Black Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout, Rock Bass, Walleye, and Yellow Perch. Lots of nearby lakes to explore, minutes from state land for hunting, and a variety of local restaurants and bars to try.

The cottage is in the perfect location on the lake, tucked in a slight cove with a sandy beach and unique fire-pit overlooking the water, and ready for relaxing with 6 Adirondack chairs. Wake up to glass-calm waters and take in the view with your morning coffee (coffee pods and tea provided). Be sure to curl up next to the crackling wood fireplace, while cozying up to watch a movie, play games or enjoy the moon glistening over the lake. You'll find a variety of fun board games, a full poker set, activity books, coloring books, stickers, blocks, and puzzles. Also equipped with (3) smart TVs and high-speed internet. The lower level has a large sectional, DVD player, and 55" flatscreen with surround sound so you can have a memorable movie night with the whole family. For those who need to get a little work done we’ve got a space for that too. Equipped with a desk, ergonomic chair, keyboard, and monitor with HDMI cord (second monitor available if requested). Enjoy preparing meals together in the large kitchen, with modern appliances, granite countertops, and a large kitchen island.  A quiet, peaceful sleep awaits in the four sleeping areas with nearly all new Casper mattresses, soft linens, and extra blankets. Two full bathrooms, one sits right off the main floor bedroom and another next to the built-in bunk bed on the lower level, creating a private sleeping quarter for kids or adults. The first floor and lower floor walk out directly to the lake so keeping an eye on kids or running back to grab a drink or extra beach towel is no problem at all. Finally, the large deck, equipped with a gas BBQ, dining for 6, and 3 additional lounging chairs is the perfect place to take it all in.

There are trails within walking distance and access to state hunting land and ORV trails just a short drive away. Centrally located between West Branch and Gladwin giving you easy access to lots of restaurants and shopping. This charming cottage is the absolute perfect place to create family memories that will last a lifetime. Please note: the hot tub is not currently functional. Sorry for the inconvenience on inconvenience.

This is our second stay at this home, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The house is beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet, and the lake is beautiful and fun to swim in. We all had so much fun, and my kids loved the beach and fishing!

Wonderful Stay

The house was perfect for my daughter’s wedding weekend. We enjoyed the fire pit and beach. Inside, there was plenty of room for everyone. The hosts were very responsive and check in/out was easy. We would definitely stay here again.

It was so clean and well stocked, the property grounds were well maintained, the beds were extremely comfy and the location on the water was perfect!! Hands down one of the best properties I’ve rented! My girlfriends and I will be back, no need to look any further for future trips!

Stayed here for a fishing trip with the guys. The house was wondeful. Plenty of space. All the amenities. Cortney communicated with us quickly which made check in a breeze. Would definitely recommend staying here we will likely be returning in the future.

We had a great stay in Gladwin. Cortney was a wonderful host and very communicative. The kitchen had everything we needed and more to cook some pretty elaborate meals. Our kiddos loved the downstairs couch and ping pong table. We all had a great stay. Thanks!

Best Vacation Spot Ever

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was roomy, clean, and had all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook a great meal for a large crew. There was plenty of sleeping space for all of our guests to have their own area. The living room and bonus living room allowed everyone to chill out and watch their favorite Netflix show. The bathrooms were clean and had the necessities needed. The lakefront property was everything you could ask for. The deck was great for playing games on. The sandy beach was just perfect for building sandcastles and sunning yourself. The dock offered us many hours of awesome fishing. We caught over 100 bluegill and even caught a record setting 22 inch bass! The water equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, floating raft) were enjoyed by all. The firepit is so unique and special. We enjoyed many campfires and smores. It was so quiet and tranquil on this property. Although few, the neighbors were very friendly. I can not recommend this property enough. Thank you for sharing your piece of happiness with us.

A magical place

Our 2nd stay and we booked for 2025. We had a couple unexpected bumps that happened that were not the fault our hosts-but they were so kind any way when I told them about it. Excellent place to vacation! Beautiful

Lovely place, lots to do and enjoy for our large 3 generation family! From the sandy beach to the numerous areas to congregate for board games and coffee, we were never bored. The beds were comfortable, and everything we needed was supplied it easily purchased at the the dollar store down the road. We'll definitely be back.

The house was the perfect size for our group, everything was clean and the sandy beach was enjoyed by all of us and the water was nice to swim in! The new water float was everyone's favorite for sure. Also the owner Cortney was always easy to get ahold of if we had any questions. Would definitely book again if we go to the Gladwin area!

Fourth of July Family Get-Away

This was a get-away for my husband and I with our daughter and her family. Our 2 young granddaughters loved the beach and water access, and the firepit area was a beautiful place to hang out. Great property to go and relax and spend quality family time but still close enough to explore some of the area like Frankenmuth. The host Cortney was responsive to any questions and concerns that we had. We would stay here again if we are able to get back to the area.

PERFECT LAKE HOUSE!

Often times reviews are not accurate, however, this place was truly the perfect LAKE HOUSE. It included all the amenities and was well equipped for all of our needs. Thank you so much to the kind property manager, Courtney for her diligence in making sure that our stay was wonderful. Even any minor concerns were easily resolved because of excellent communication. Will be staying there again next year! The home easily held 12 of us as well as four others who joined just to enjoy the lake house.

Family time

What a great stay and beautiful home and location! Courtney was an absolutely fabulous host. She was prompt and gracious with her home and the items in it. We wanted to use one of the water toys but it needed to be inflated- Courtney went out of her way to guide us through the garage so we could do so. Our grandsons were ever so grateful. We had a great time! The house was well stocked and we wanted for nothing during our stay. Would definitely return! Thanks again Courtney

What is not love

A beautiful setting, nice house with games, sandy beach, river to swim in, frog pond my grandson loved, swing set, TV’s, tremendous fire pit, kayaks and things to float on and owners have thought of everything to make guests feel welcome and happy. We all hated to leave and have already booked it for next year!

Great place, everyone kept busy!

This place was great! We had our children 16,14,12&10 with us. So much to do there and provided life jackets also. I went running in the mornings, safe neighborhood also! Very quiet during the week, noticed that people started to come on Friday/Friday night, so we basically had the lake to ourselves from Monday-Thursday. Great little ice cream shop not too far, dollar general a few miles also. Larger town about 25 miles away, easy travel. Kids hung out in the basement when it rained for a few hours. Made a full breakfast daily, grilled out a few days also. Everything we needed was provided. We all had a great time! Thank you for letting us stay at your place.
