'Experience' The History In Downtown Gettysburg - 1st Floor

The home is a pre-civil war structure with modern conveniences. A witness to Lincoln's procession to the national cemetery where he gave his famous Gettysburg address, it sits in the middle of Gettysburg's historic district. You will have fun exploring the area; the adventurous will enjoy touring the 40 miles of battlefield roads (by bicycle, horseback or vehicle), tour a civil war house, talk to the soldiers in encampments and reenactments, or take a haunted ghost tour by night.

At the end of the day you can relax and enjoy your stay at our newly renovated 1st floor apartment or sit outside on one of the two decks. There are 2 bedrooms (a queen bed in each), and a pull out chair bed with an extra mattress for comfort in the second bedroom. There is 1 bathroom which consists of a tub/shower combo, a fully fitted eat-in kitchen, a TV/sitting room with cable TV, and Wifi. We provide you with towels, linens, handsoap, dish liquid, paper towels, toilet paper, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, iron and board, hair dryer; everything that will make you feel right at home!

You will love the location. We are with-in walking distance to restaurants, museums, the national cemetery where Lincoln gave his address, art galleries, shops, and everything else Gettysburg has to offer. Leave the driving to someone else and hop on the local trolley to see other out of town sites including the new national park service visitor center & museum, and cyclorama. You can take a day trip to surrounding Hershey park (50 miles), Washington DC (60 miles), Lancaster PA Dutch country (45 miles), or skiing about 10 minutes south of town.

The host is just the nicest man. And he has some interesting family ties to Gettysburg. The home was very cozy. It was VERY cold while we were there and the house was warm and comfortable the entire time. Extra quilts was a very nice touch. Close to everything and easy to get places.

I stayed with my 7 year old son and my parents, in their 50-60s. We had such a good time! This place is right in the heart of Gettysburg and was within walking distance of so much!! It made it difficult to stop my son from having nightly ice cream. Things were clean and comfy! We had all that we needed. Check-in and further communication with the owners was great, quick, informative replies. Our couple days wasn’t enough and we plan to be back. In the meantime, I have been recommending this to all of our friends.

Perfect town location

The apartment was right in the heart of Gettysburg, walking distance to shops, ice cream, restaurants. The apartment had a vintage true Gettysburg feel and was just as pictures online presented. It had air conditioning and wifi which were important for our family. Top of the line washer and dryer available as needed and 2 different outdoor seating options outside for eating as a family as well. Communication with owner excellent.

Amazing Location

We loved our stay. The location is great and within walking distance to the battlefield and most restaurants. The house is historical and very cool itself. Only downside, its on the main road and in the summer time, the motorcycles were really loud.

Great place, awesome location!

This place was perfect for our stay in Gettysburg! The location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do in town. The private parking saved us on parking fees. Easy walking distance to many things, so easy even I, with some mobility issues, could do it.

Great Location!

This was our second time here. It is downtown and easy walking distance to restaurants. It is a quaint home with two nicely sized bedrooms and a good kitchen. We've stayed here when we've gone skiing at Liberty resort. It is a short drive there. Would stay here again.

Battlefield

Location was great and the space had its charms. Steps were a bit steep and narrow (not unexpected in an old building) so might not be great for someone with mobility issues. The common area was perfect for our two days there. A great stay.

Great Location Except for the Traffic

This home worked well for our short stay. The host communicated with us before our arrival and met us at the location to give us the keys. As far as proximity to everything Gettysburg, you couldn't pick a better location. The one downside was the traffic noise in the morning. Beginning between 5 and 6 AM, the tour buses start traveling the street in front of the house and they're fairly noisy. The kids didn't hear them, but my wife and I did. So if you're a light sleeper, it's something to consider.

Great location and facility

My wife and I came out for an extended weekend trip to Gettysburg with our 8 pound Yorkie. This unit was totally idea for us. It is within walking distance of a great many places. Everything was ideal and we will be returning again!
