"The woman that checked us in was very polite and helpful. The room was very clean. All the necessary soaps and linens were available. The bed was a little softer than we are used to, but still very comfortable. The A/C unit was easy to control. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and fresh! A good assortment of cereals, bakery items, juice, hot items (make your own waffles, a pre-made omelet tea, sausage patties and home fries). Would definitely book this hotel again."

The walls in the bathroom were rough from previous changes and paint, with one spot of drywall exposed from something previously hung on it. There was a void in the ceramic tile on the bathroom floor for an access panel of some sort. The carpet in our room was in need of a serious cleaning or replacement. "Very disappointing stay. The room had a strong paint smell, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably throughout the night. The room was extremely small, and the window faced the passageway, making it impractical to keep it open. Additionally, the bed was very noisy and squeaked with every movement, making it even harder to get a good night's sleep. Overall, the room was overpriced and not worth the money."

"The location of this property was great, on the perimeter of downtown Portsmouth which is a wonderful little city. The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, both for good selection and the taste. My biggest complaint is that it was very noisy in my room. The AC unit is the loudest I've ever heard. A few times I thought it was a nearby train when it started running. Also the people in the room above me woke me up at 1 AM doing something. I didn't hear voices...

"I stayed here on a quick overnight after a delayed flight. The front desk person was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. There is a bar/restaurant where I got an appetizer. It was good.I left early in the morning, so I did not use the pool or fitness center. I appreciated the free coffee in the lobby."
