Location, location, location

Beautiful property with great access to the beach. Loved the comfortable decks to enjoy the waves in the mornings and evenings. Nice beach walks and frisbee playing. Beach not crowed at all. House had all amenities and is close to a grocery store and a couple of restaurants. Would stay again!

Mermaid Beach for Labor Day

The location allowed me to view sunrise and each day. The view of the beach from balcony was amazing. The only thing that was challenging was the spiral stairs.

Peaceful and Fun, Great Family Spot

Away from the craziness of the super touristy area, but close enough that nothing is too far away. The beach is gorgeous and being further down from Galveston, the beach was calm and not at all busy which made it great for relaxing. The house was as pictured and was perfect for a shared family vacation. The kids loved the bunk area, which is listed as a bedroom but does not close off for privacy. This was a plus for us, so we could here giggling kids after bedtime and it was easy to check in on them without waking. The decks offer stunning views and a nice place to relax after dark. The host was a GREAT communicator and answered all questions super fast. The house had all the little things you need while on vacation. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

Oh, the Amenities!

Oh, the Amenities! We've stayed at four houses in Galveston so far, and Mermaid Manor had quite a few things we've encountered nowhere else! The house is fully stocked with must-haves like toilet paper, shampoo/body wash/lotion singles, dishwasher/laundry pods and detergent, paper towels, and garbage bags just to name a few. These are those little things that matter big when you get to Galveston and realize you don't have them. Worry not! The house itself is fantastic - beautiful from the outside and a unique architectural design compared to most Galveston area houses. Much of the house seems freshly painted and likely constantly updated/upgraded by the owner. The home is tucked away at the end of a No Outlet road with direct access to the beautiful beach via a private bridge. The neighboring properties are separated in a way that gives you this whole section of beach all to yourself - no nearby public access and such. There is a spiral staircase, with safety gates at each point of entry you can open or close selectively, as well as at main sections of the house to prevent unwanted wandering by pets and/or small children. The master bathroom shower is incredible, with an angled wall shower head with detachable handheld wand, or you can turn on the ceiling-mounted shower head if you prefer. Absolutely beautiful! Towels and beach towels everywhere, and spectacular views from every floor and balcony. Highly recommended for your Galveston stay!

Weekend stay

The beach house was amazing and the host was great from the start of the booking process. We had a great time this weekend, as we are planning a future trip back soon.
