During my check-in yesterday, I noticed that the bedding (bed sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcases) did not appear to have been freshly changed. After contacting the bedding, my skin became itchy, which raised concerns about cleanliness.
I reported this to the front desk, but initially, the concern was dismissed based on photos, and I was told that no replacement could be arranged because only one staff member was on duty. After I reiterated my discomfort and hygiene concerns, I was eventually provided with clean linens; however, I had to change the bedding myself.
While I appreciate receiving clean linens in the end, this experience did not meet my expectations regarding basic cleanliness and guest service. I hope the hotel will improve its housekeeping checks and response in similar situations.
