Clean, easy access to the area I needed to be in, but wouldn’t stay again. It’s not a 1 bedroom house but a converted garage which is not street accessible. A converted garage is not a problem - but it shouldn’t be called a house if it’s not. I needed to work on this trip and the wifi strength was incredibly low with only one bar so I had to work elsewhere. The bed, bathroom and shower are all a foot off the ground and not easy access those areas. Mobility issues prevented me from being able to access the areas and ultimately forced me to stay in my car for the trip. Tried to talk to the owners about issues and wanted to discuss a reasonable cancellation, but was simply told no. Was there one night of my 8 day stay.

We recently stayed at this Galveston property and wanted to share an honest review for future guests. The location was convenient and check-in was straightforward, but unfortunately we ran into several maintenance and cleanliness issues during our stay.Upon arrival, there was no hot water and the shower water pressure was very low. The refrigerator and freezer were not working, which resulted in us having to throw away groceries and purchase ice throughout the stay. We also discovered that the AC units were not functioning properly until we cleaned the filters ourselves, which were very dirty.A few other items needed attention as well: the smoke detector was non-functional and kept beeping until we removed the battery, the ceiling fan remote in the bedroom was broken, and the living room TV speaker was not working. Additionally, while there is a cleaning fee, the floors were noticeably dirty (walking barefoot left our feet black), which was disappointing.We also had someone outside the property for an extended period (over 2 hours) taking photos, including picturews of us as we came and went from the house, which was a bit creepy.Overall, the property has potential, but it seems like it would benefit from more consistent maintenance and a more thorough cleaning between guests. With some attention to these areas, it could provide a much better experience.

The day of check-in, the owner sent me instructions for accessing the property — but the address they provided was completely different from the one I had actually booked. I immediately messaged them to ask whether that address was simply where the key was located for my rental. Their only response was “read.”Assuming there had been some misunderstanding, I drove to the address they sent. When I arrived, it was an entirely different rental unit than the property I had reserved. Only after I questioned them again did they finally admit they were having plumbing problems at the original property and were “offering” this alternate unit instead. They also stated I could cancel for free if I didn’t want it.I attempted to cancel through VRBO, but by that point the system would not allow me to do so online because it was too close to check-in. I then asked the owner directly to process the cancellation and refund my money. They completely stopped responding.Four days later, I contacted VRBO support. Even they were unable to reach the owner. At that point, I had no choice but to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge to stop payment.This was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. The communication was misleading, unprofessional, and ultimately nonexistent once a refund was requested. I would strongly recommend staying away from any property managed by these owners.
