Perfect getaway

Really enjoyed our mini vacation, while it did rain the entire time, we were still able to enjoy some family fun with the open floor plan and easy access to the canal. Definitely saving this as a return spot for next time.

The house and the area is awesome. Have to stop by the new little bar at the corner. It is owned by an awesome couple. Will definitely be back!

Family get together

A little dirty upon arrival but we surfaced cleaned and vacuumed and it was good. The master bath was dirty but again easy clean. That was the negative!! Good location fun neighborhood at the local restaurant. The house is very comfortable, simple.

Great location

We loved where the property was located! Being on the canal was very fun. The property itself was very outdated and is in need of new flooring, carpet and decking. The house did have remolded bathrooms, so that was very nice. We would have enjoyed seating down by the water and the seating upstairs was not in good shape so we did not sit on it.

Great but needs cleaning

Overall was outstanding. Very nice. Someone needs to clean the kitchen, and the furniture. It was dirty, wash the dishes before using them or bring your own. Patio furniture is falling apart. Simple fixes. Overall great.

GREAT location and nice, simple home.

Candice (our host) was very quick to address any and all concerns/issues. New appliances in kitchen, new couch, new a/c unit, new flooring, and new outdoor furniture. The house is dated, but decently maintained. The only con was the condition of kitchen drawers and utensils, but wasn’t anything we couldn’t handle. Overall, it was a great house and we enjoyed our stay very much.

During our stay

We enjoyed ourselves! The place was nice including everything we needed, with the exception of one thing! We anticipated going to the pier and fish! However we were not able to obtain access to this pier because of issues with the key! Confirm the access before reservation!

Great location

The location of this house was great. Great views and loved staying on the canal. The only complaints we have was the condition of the house. Very dated and dirty carpet and worn kitchen. We had to bring our own chairs to any patio location we wanted to sit because there either wasn't any (downstairs) or the furniture upstairs on the balcony was too worn to sit. Also, had to make sure we had shoes on to be on any balcony for splinters, wood is pretty worn as well. The house was pretty cluttered but that being said, kitchen was well stocked. Evolve or whoever the house's representative was, was very quick to respond with any questions, that was great!

PROS: Great location between the Bay and the Gulf; quiet yet close enough to the neighborhood restaurant & bar, marina and bait shop; very spacious; awesome updated bathrooms, stove/oven, & washer/dryer; large deck for fishing/relaxing CONS: Kitchen cabinets need fixing (2 broken); rusty/broken/old cookware needs to be replaced with 1 good non-stick set: no space in master bedroom closet to hang clothes; carpet looks worn and old

Sea Isle Canal House

My family have rented several beach houses over the past 5 years, we are not picky. Location is key for us and this was a great location for us! We rent the beach houses to be outside not inside. I gave a 4 star for my experience. This house was large in our opinion, it accommodated all of our guest well for the most part. Upon arrival check in instructions are clear, the carpet had stains, some sugar ants on the counter, someone had turned the refrigerator down to two so it took over 24 hours to get our food cold. We were worried about getting sick if the food got to hot but we turned it up and our food got cold eventually and we didn't die! The teens loved the soccer table behind the couch. The lights in the guest room was little annoying, when you use the remote to turn on the light it turns off the other guest bedroom light. There's a drawer in the kitchen that falls out. The out door furniture on the second floor deck is old and falling apart, the lounge chair's have a bottom cushion but not a back cushion. The umbrella for that table is broken. (This is probably the only thing that bothered me because we like to eat outside and hang outside). They had a charcoal grill but really small on would not accommodate our needs. The fishing was not great but a local said fishing hasn't been the same since the freeze.(like I said we have rented several beach house after the freeze and we also did not catch many fish in the canals). Fishing at the beach was great! We spent most of our time outside in the water or fishing. Swimming in the canals was a big hit with the kiddos. This place could use a little updating of the couches, fixing of the cabinets, and outside furniture, possibly some more seating downstairs, maybe a bigger grill. This review is only for future renters. The inside was not a huge deal to me, its the outside that matters to us. We were not in the house much. We enjoyed our time here.

Good stay

House is well maintained. Most appliances are very new, the oven could use an update though all we could get it to do is broil. Very comfortable beds and all the kitchen utensils/appliances you should need. Bathrooms very nice and updated. Beach towels were provided that was very nice!! Bring all your own fishing gear because My Husband, my 16yo , and I did a lot of fishing from the downstairs dock area which was also spacious and clean. (Just needs a green light added in the water),Fish cleaning table was very convenient. Everything was in very good working condition. The house itself is conveniently located not too far from the marina and bait shop. We will be back 😁

Clean, cozy, and convenient

Nice space for a small family, I think more than 6 people would feel a little tight. House is very clean and well maintained. Some appliances are very new, some could use an update (oven, iron). Master bath shower is a little tight, but manageable, and its been updated which is nice. Beach towels were provided, but it would have been nice to have some beach chairs provided as well. Me, my 3yo, and my 8yo did a lot of fishing from the downstairs dock area which was also spacious and clean. Fish cleaning table was very convenient. Everything was in very good working condition. The house itself is conveniently located not too far from the marina, bait shop, both local markets/convenience stores, and the beach across the main road. Overall we enjoyed the house and my family had a great trip.

Rustic coastal house in a beautiful location with comfortable surroundings. We felt safe. Comfortable beds and all the kitchen utensils/appliances you should need. It is a bit of a drive to Galveston proper but well worth it. Bring all your own fishing gear and pick up bait from the local shop just .4 miles away to enjoy wetting a line off the lower deck. We enjoyed our stay.
