¡El encantador house de Funchal!

La casa de los Francelhos es una hermosa y bien construida casa de lujo en Funchal (originalmente construido en 1937) con una piscina privada de piscina y un impresionante paisaje y vistas de la ciudad, ofreciendo la quiet setting en la zona residencial privilegiada para la alegría, relajada y rechaging stay in Isla Madeira.
Una caminata de 15 a 20 minutos lo llevará al centro de Funchal (0.9 millas / 1.4 km).

El hotel dispone de 2 suites y 2 espaciosas habitaciones, una gran sala de estar, una elegante sala de estar, 4,5 baños y una cocina completamente equipada. La casa está preparada para albergar niños y niños (con 2 alta silla y 2 cots - a regular y una versión de viaje). Wonderful place to stay in Funchal!

We (group of 6 old friends) are so glad we had the opportunity to stay at Casa dos Francelhos! As noted by the other reviews, Antonio was a fantastic host, very generous with his time and knowledge, and the villa was beautiful and comfortable. We were greeted by the loveliest welcome sign, along with wine, treats, and plenty of information to explore Funchal and Madeira. Lots of kitchen equipment for those planning to cook (but do take Antonio's advice on restaurant recommendations!), comfortable couches in the living room, spacious bedrooms, and so many beautiful details throughout. We walked into town each day and then walked (if we were feeling energetic) or Uber/Bolt-ed home.Thank you Antonio for a fantastic holiday and we hope to see you again soon!

Wonderful villa and host!

We all agreed this was the nicest villa anyone had ever rented. Charming is a great description. We were a group of long time friends on a girls trip that included hiking and shopping. The villa was so well stocked with everything you could think of. It was so clean and the location was great with amazing views. Antonio was wonderful. He was quick to reply to any questions and was so nice. The pool was wonderful too. We enjoyed our stay so much and would highly recommend staying here! You'll be glad you did! We absolutely loved our stay!

The house was amazing! Antonio, thank you very much for everything, we really enjoyed our stay! We stayed at Antonio's house with 6 friends for my partner's 30th birthday and it was exactly the getaway we needed. The property was clean, spacious, and very well equipped - we had absolutely everything we needed there, and were able to enjoy breakfasts and barbeque by the pool area outside, as well as some down time in the living room, playing board games and chatting. Madeira is a wonderful destination, but Antonio's house was the highlight of our stay, as we didn't want to leave! Antonio himself was so helpful and accommodating too - he helped us check-in and out, gave advice on things to do in the area and best food to eat, as well as offered to help us in any way we needed during our stay. We would come back in a heartbeat, thank you so much!

Beautiful and perfect location

Our stay was amazing. The property was absolutely gorgeous and so well stocked with literally anything we could have ever needed! The pool was perfect after a long day walking through the city! The view from the balcony was breathtaking! Our host was so accommodating and gave wonderful recommendations for dinner and sites to see! He really went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect! We have stayed at vacation rentals all over Europe and I have to say this one was hands down the most beautiful one we have ever seen! A perfect trifecta of charm, comfort, and hospitality.

From the moment we arrived at Casa Dos Francelhos I knew we were in for a truly special experience. We were greeted by Antonio, whose genuine warmth and hospitality immediately made us feel at home, like he was an old friend who had been anxiously awaiting our arrival. We were treated to a fascinating tour of the property, during which he described its history, the natural environment, and of course the features of the home. An impressive welcome arrangement of local fruits, wines, beers, were also waiting for us on the kitchen table. Antonio has also put together a most impressive tour guide of the entire island of Madeira covering maps, things to do, places to eat and buy groceries, transportation, and everything else in between. Over years of staying in different vacation rentals, I have never seen such a thorough and complete guide to an area. Also, I have never been made to feel more welcome or cared for. From taking the extra effort to research the best fishing guides in the area (Shout out to Nelson at Fish Point Madeira, also a true class act!) to sending texts throughout our trip making personal recommendations to restaurants and even menu suggestions, Antonio was incredible in every way. Also, a special thank you to Antonio's son Joao for taking my son Jack to the local gym for a workout! The home and yard are absolutely beautiful and immaculately kept. Incredible attention has been paid to every detail, and it is clear to see that Antonio is passionate about this incredibly charming property. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all thoughtfully equipped and perfectly comfortable. I can't help but smile as I write this, remembering the cool ocean breeze and pale moon light filtering through the open balcony doors as I curled up in my cozy bed savoring the perfect climate. The kitchen is also very well equipped, and we prepared many enjoyable homemade meals during our stay. The most memorable was the red snapper and cream pasta grilled over charcoal embers in the brick oven by the pool. The garden is also simply delightful. It is every bit as beautiful as the photos show, and there is even an active fresh water spring trickling down the natural stone walls that encircle the patio, enshrouded in vines and flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed our nightly chill sessions on the balcony, conversing, sipping wine, and taking in the ocean views. Thank you Antonio! We absloutely loved our stay at Casa Dos Francelhos!

Casa Francelhos and Madeira: never to be forgotten.

We have thought out and planned everything well in advance: in 2020 we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our marriage with children in Madeira. But as so often, life turns out to be unpredictable: the corona pandemic changes everything. Thanks to the empathy and thoughtfulness of our host Antonio, our party has been postponed twice one year. This year we finally meet him in person. It feels like a warm Bath: he surprises us with a party-cake with two candles, numbered 5 and 2!!! Our stay is everything we imagined and more than that. Our son surprises us with beautiful atmospheric images of the sunrise on the Pico do Furado on the São Laurenço Peninsula and on the Miradouro Nino da Manta at the Pico do Arieiro. Our doughter and son-in-law make beautiful trips through the rugged interior. And last but nog least, Casa dos Francelhos fitted like a glove and felt like home to all of is. Wonderful place to stay

We were in Madeira for hiking and fireworks. This is the perfect location. Due to covid we opted to stay home and watch the fireworks from our balcony. It was amazing. It is perfect. So clean and comfortable and we were amazed by all the extras provided. We will come back and stay here for sure. our host was incredible and went above and beyond expectations. It was a nice downhill walk to the main square and a cheap taxi ride back. It was nice and quiet and so comfortable. Stop looking and book this house. You won’t be disappointed.

Charming, well-equipped & spotless

We (2 families, 4 adults and 4 children, 1-4 yrs) stayed in this house for 11 days. We all loved it! It’s a really nice and charming house; it’s easy to feel at home here. At the same time it’s very clean and well maintained - everything is in perfect order. The house is well equipped, it really has everything you could wish for. Generous as well, with coffee pods, toothpaste, charcoal, washing detergent etc. Great for small children as well, with cots, high chairs, toys and even chairs for the car (and possibility to cover the pool). Our host Antonio made our stay even better. He’s very helpful, easy to get in touch with and flexible with arrangements. We really felt that he cared about us! If you’re looking for a house in Funchal I don’t think you’re going to find a better one than this.

Fantastisch huis met fantastische host

Voor iedereen die nog twijfelt; van het boeken van dit huis krijg je geen spijt. Het is een prachtig, goed onderhouden huis met heerlijk zwembad. Alles is goed verzorgd, goede bedden, veel badkamers, uitgebreide keuken inventaris, warme ontvangst, uitleg door de host over alles in huis incl. tips over de omgeving, wandelingen en activiteiten. De host (Antonio) is heel flexibel en woont dichtbij. Al je vragen beantwoordt hij snel, en makkelijk via whatsapp. Enig klein minpuntje is dat je bij sommige van de douches de douchekop in je hand moet houden, je kunt er niet goed onder staan als deze aan de muur hangt. Maar dat is slechts een kleinigheid. Verder gewoonweg perfect, we hebben een week enorm genoten en voor het eerst een huis waar we zeker weten terug gaan keren!

Weihnachtsferien Familienurlaub

Wir haben als Familie 14 Tage in einer sehr schönen Umgebung, bei bestem Wetter , verbracht. Antonio ist ein perfekter Vermieter, sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist sehr persönlich gestaltet und vermittelt nicht das Gefühl sich in einer Ferienunterkunft aufzuhalten. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir mit Blumen in den Vasen, einem Obstkorb mit heimischen Früchten und verschiedenen Getränken liebevoll empfangen. Ob für die Enkelkinder, die Kinder oder die Großeltern, übereinstimmend ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Ein herzliches dankeschön nochmals an Antonio.

Outstanding in all regards

From hello to good-bye, Antonio is the perfect host. Always available and the end of the phone, if you need him, we did, once at 22:00 due to a faulty alarm and he was there within 30 minutes. The house itself is ideal for families with 4 spacious rooms and 3 bathroom you will not be falling over each other. A well stocked kitchen, you just need to provide the main items everything else is provided, from salt to fresh coffee. Our welcome pack included some very nice Madeira wine, beer and biscuits. The pool area is well stocked with everything you might need as a family. If there is a downside, and it is a minor issue, it's the walk back from Funchal, the house is a the top of a long hill. It is a minor issue as there are plenty of taxi's at reasonable cost. So walk down but taxi back. it became our mantra....enjoy you stay this is a beautiful place. Thank you Antonio.

Wirklich schön...

Perfekt! Das Ferienhaus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, eingerichtet und gepflegt. Wir haben nichts vermisst und uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Der Pool ist sehr schön angelegt und sauber. Antonio hat uns persönlich begrüßt und uns das Haus gezeigt. Er ist jederzeit ansprechbar und hilft auch bei Fragen zu Ausflügen immer weiter. Zur Begrüßung warteten frisches Obst, Wein und Cookies auf uns. Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr praktisch, sowohl für die Stadterkundung zu Fuß als auch mit dem Bus oder Auto. Unsere Mietautos (Clio Größe) haben beide in die Einfahrt gepasst. Etwas Fahrgeschick sollte man für die engen und steilen Straßen von Funchal mitbringen. Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub in einem super Haus auf einer abwechslungsreichen Insel.

Das Haus ist nur zu empfehlen ! Einfach nur wunderschön ! Wunderschöne Aussicht vom Balkon ins Tal von Funchal... Sehr zuvorkommender Eigentümer... Alles in allem ein gelungener Urlaub !

A Few Days In Paradise

We were a party of five who stayed at this villa for five nights. The villa was spotless and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. The outside space and pool are idyllic with a selection of beautiful flowers and shrubbery. We have no hesitation to recommend this holiday and we all hope to return next year.

Great house, great host and everything available what you wished for

With a family of 7 adult and a baby of 6 months, this beautiful house fullfilled all our wishes. Enough room for all, central position in lovely Funchal, and equipped with everything you could wish for. From toothpaste in all bathrooms to swim toys for kids, it was there. Even the coffee machine was filled up with the cups. All this, thanks to an owner who's first concern is to offer his guests the holiday they wish for. It is Antonio, and in the background his wife, who made it all possible. Nearly every day he contacted us if there was any need for whatever care, and if there was, he arranged it. All that made our stay a pleasant one, and supported by the people, city of Funchal and beautiful scenery of Madeira, we had a wonderful vacation. Thanks Antonio for your care, the use of your house, and the nice person that you are. We hope to ever see you back for another stay. Beautiful house

We had a wonderful 3 week holiday in this lovely house. The house is very homely and well equipped with everything you need including the bathrooms, there are wonderful views from the balcony. The garden is lovingly attended with a great pool. Antonio the owner was very helpful with advice should you need it and left a lovely welcoming hamper on our arrival. We had family and friends join us during our stay who all thought the house and island were beautiful, we can highly recommend staying here.

Marvellous house with a very pleasant owner

It is now three days since we left the marvellous Casa dos Francehlos in Funchal. We were 4 couples who stayed there for one week and had a very pleasant time there. From the moment we got there we felt a very warm and nice atmosphere. Antonio (the owner) met us when we arrived and was so helpful and kind when we asked about things to do, where to find nice Levada walks and so on. He had also bought typical Madeirian things like marmelade, Madeirawine, redwine, cookies and some nice bread and put them in a welcoming basket. In the refrigerator there was a nice cold white wine bottle. The house was very nice furnished and had very nice bedrooms and well equipped kitchen. The gardenarea was also very nice with a nice heated pool and enough space to spend nice moments in the beautiful garden. We all are so satisfied with out stay at Casa dos Francehlos and we really recommend anyone to book a stay there. I promise you will not be disapointed:) Dan with wife and friends
