Safe and Clean approved. Extremely clean, modern, bright and airy 3 bedroom villa set in the residential area of Santa Maria Maior, Old Town, Funchal. Within 5 minutes walking distance to shops and restaurants. Uninterrupted sea views visible from the large outdoor areas located on 2 levels - great for watching the Dolphins. Plenty of private space for relaxing on sun beds or dining al fresco whilst watching the cruise ships passing immediately in front of the property. Modern interior updated to provide large airy open plan areas and now the added comfort of air conditioning in all the bedrooms. Large open plan lounge with sea view leading to a brand new fully equipped kitchen and utility room. Appliances include bean to cup coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, microwave, fridge freezer and oven. The lounge is equipped with a LCD TV, cable channels and Wifi. The Villa consists of 3 spacious bedrooms all with king size beds and with full en-suites one of which is a wet room. Sun loungers, bathing towels and parasols are provided. Decoration is modern and comfortable with quality bedding, dressing gowns and towels all supplied. A little haven perfectly located with easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The property is accessed via a set of steps and therefore is not suitable for those requiring wheelchair access. The 3rd bedroom is located on the ground floor and accessible via a staircase located off the lounge. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly at no additional charge. There is the option of a single put up bed for use in either master bedroom or bedroom 3. We can also arrange taxi transfers from the airport with a reliable taxi driver (payable locally) and Mirela can book any sight seeing trips for you. Fully Licensed in Madeira License Number AL27048 with Safe & Clean accreditation. Hand gel, masks and disinfectant also provided. The house is priced based on 4 persons with an additional charge of £50 per week for extra guests. Madeira has implemented a tourist tax which is 2 euros per person over 12 for the first 7 nights i.e. 14 euros per person. This can be paid locally to Mirela who will also need copies of your passports at check-in.

My daughter, sister, and I spent a wonderful week in Madeira at Karen & Mike’s home in Funchal. Karen & Mike were responsive during booking, planning, and our stay. They reserved great taxi service - for Rafael to pick us up at airport and also do a day tour of part of island. He was friendly and energetic and shared his love of the island. Wonderful Mirela greeted us warmly upon arrival and walked us through the home and was always available to answer questions. You really have a wonderful team available to guide you in Madeira. As others have noted, the welcome of bread, butter, fruit, and wine gave us some sustenance while we got our bearings. We would have been happy to just sit all week on the terraces in very comfortable outdoor furniture overlooking the sea - it is a beautiful location! So close to restaurants and markets that we enjoyed. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen has everything. We highly recommend Karen & Mike’s home - just amazing!

I cannot say enough great things about this rental. Our stay was fabulous from beginning to end. The house is stocked with EVERYTHING and more! It is walking distance to the old town, it has a garage for your rental car. It is beautiful inside and out. Our host met us when we arrived and were always available for any issues or questions we had. There was maid service after a week which was wonderful as well. Maderia is very special as well. A beautiful island to visit. We filled two weeks easily with hiking and site seeing.

Close to Old Town

This villa was incredible!! Super clean and so big. Three lovely bedrooms all with their own bathroom. A kitchen that was top of the line and then there is a laundry room with both a washer and dryer. Everything is modern and up to date. Outside is a very large patio with lounging chairs and table with a spectacular view of the ocean. A very short walk gets you into old town. One of the nicest vrbo places I have ever rented.

Fabulous property

This is a lovely house with amazing views a few minutes walk from the action. We loved the sun terrace and balcony. Better equipped than our own house. Super clean. Sad to be leaving and hope to return!

Karen’s place has everything you could want for a great holiday. View,location,well stocked home and parking(if you have a car). The place is incredibly well stocked and great walking distance into the city itself. It was so nice to sit on the deck in the evenings that we were home to watch the sky change with the setting sun

Unbelievable.

An amazing villa and there is nothing you could complain about. This villa has nothing missing and much more than you will ever need. A very precise folder gives you all instructions and useful contacts.The location is perfect, near to all facilities but away from the crowds and with outstanding views. Mírela was very welcoming and helpful when meeting and continued that way all through our stay, ensuring we needed nothing. Rafael was fantastic. Collected us from airport and very knowledgable. We booked him for a private tour of the island. A great investment, he could not be more helpful. We were going to hire a car but with Rafael and good buses, was not needed. We did not want to rave about villa because we do not want it booked when we want to come back, hopefully soon.

Beautiful property

Overlooking Funchal harbour, with a short walk from the heart of the city. A beautifully appointed, spacious property, with plenty of space for 6 adults. The only shortcoming was building works to properties on either side (which the owner could do nothing about), which were very intrusive with heavy drilling and loud music every day.

The location of the house is perfect. Within walking distance to cable cars, shops and the farmers market. The house is fantastic, with incredible ocean views to enjoy your meals or just sit with your morning coffee or a glass of wine. We locked ourselves out one day and the homeowner returned my email within 5 minutes. Mirela was there in 10 minutes. The house has everything you need to feel like home, and is incredibly clean. Our taxi driver, Rapheal, was so nice and friendly. We really enjoyed transport with him. We will definitely stay here again when we return. Thanks Karen, your place is definitely exceptional.

Fabulous Experience

Perhaps one of the nicest experiences you could ask for – This place has everything. The location is just up the hill from Old Town with views of the ocean and harbor. Highly recommend you bring a good pair of binoculars to truly enjoy all the activities on the ocean from whale and dolphin watching to enjoying watching the ships and boats, open water kayakers, wind surfers, and paddleboarders. The two decks are fully furnished for enjoying a relaxed and beautiful time. The furnishings are comfortable and clean. The modern kitchen is stocked for a banquet – both in dishes and utensils as well as spices, coffee, etc. Karen and Mike have a true jewel in this home. Everything looked brand new and operated perfectly. Mirela, the housekeeper was simply incredible. She made the stay a wonderful experience with all her help and advice on things to do and the local activities. If you are looking for an extremely clean, comfortable place to spend all your vacation time, or a wonderful home base for exploring the beautiful city and all of Madeira you should stay here. Better than a 5-star hotel!!!

Holiday in Madeira

Excellent property. I could not believe the amount of ware glasses etc. It had absolutely everything. Mirela was so helpful. Great view from the property. We felt the pull up the hill but very soon found an alternate route. Would definitely recommend it to anybody who is thinking of going to Madeira. Weather was very warm when we were there so it was great to sit out in the shade.

Vi hadde et flott opphold. Huset var svært godt utstyrt og var rent og pent.

Vi ble tatt vel i mot av Mirela med kaffe og kaker. Det var gode senger og rent og fint på alle rommene. Rafael møtte oss på flyplassen og kjørte oss trygt til huset. Kan absolutt anbefale stedet. Huset var veldig bra for 3 voksne par. Veldig hyggelig og imøtekommende personale.

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft

Terrasse mit großer und toller Aussicht auf Hafen und Stadt. Solch eine komplette Ausstattung haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Die Taxis von und zum Flughafen waren für uns 6 auch gut organisiert. Die Beschreibung des Hauses stimmt ebenfalls. Danke für den schönen Urlaub. Das Vorhandensein einer Garage sollte auch erwähnt werden.

Beautiful

Funchal, Madeira and this property are beautiful. You will want to return. The villa is located within 10-15 mins walk of the old town, via cobbled streets and quite a sharp walk back up the road. We found a wonderful range of cafes and restaurants and enjoyed every meal. Everything we needed was supplied, a great kitchen and good quality furnishings. The temperature was 30c+ during our stay in October and a floor or desk fan in the living room would’ve been lovely. All 3 bedrooms had air-con which was much appreciated. We made good use of the south facing veranda with its comfy chairs and sun-loungers. Watching the ocean going traffic, including the arrival of one of the world’s largest cruise ships and Navel vessels patrolling the area, was fun. Mirela the housekeeper was on hand to offer advice as required (taxis etc). Her kind help evicting a rogue lizard from the basement bedroom was appreciated - she even changed the bed linen (it has snuck in the bed!). The welcome pack contained excellent fresh bread which encouraged us to find the local bakery for more - asap! The little narrow street in front of the house can be (infrequently) noisy - from the delivery lads on their scooters or the early morning workers. Thank you to Karen and Mirela, for your thoughtfulness and considerations.

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus für einen tollen Urlaub

Wir haben einen tollen Urlaub auf Madeira verbracht. Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen… nach vom Vermieter organisierten Taxitransfer vom Flughafen freundlicher Empfang mit umfangreichem Willkommenspaket, luxuriöse Ausstattung (es fehlt einfach an nichts), sehr gepflegt und sauber inklusive einer Zwischenreinigung nach einer Woche (DANKE an Mirela!). Die Lage bietet einen guten Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen sowohl in der Stadt als auch für Ausflüge mit dem Mietwagen, der in der Garage Platz findet. Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!

Stay to Madeira

The accommodation was very clean and enough space for everyone. Stunning view from the big terrace, where you can sit and eat on a big table. We had everything we needed. The renter was achievable at anytime. We were ordered a taxi to and from the airport. Great service. The driver was on time. We were feeling so comfortable! Very very lovely renter!!! If we come back to Madeira, we would stay in this accommodation again!!

Absolutely fabulous!!

Everything about this rental is fantastic. It is in a great location, it's a really terrific house, very responsive, owner, and wonderful housekeeper who was really helpful. We were walking distance from everything. We rented a car and we could keep it in the garage. We used in the car for excursions. Two different hiking locations and sights around the island. We had so much fun! Best rental ever!

Gerne wieder!

Madeira ist so vielfältig, dass die zwei Wochen viel zu kurz waren, um all die wunderbaren Gärten und Levadas zu besuchen. Was aber in jedem Fall ein Glückstreffer war, war die Wohnung, die so zentral und dennoch sehr ruhig mit einem herrlichen Meerblick und einer riesigen wunderbaren Terasse ausgestattet war, dass wir uns jeden Tag immer wieder über diese Wahl gefreut haben.

Amazing villa in spectacular old town Funchal

This is an amazing modern Villa with spectacular views and facilities. We were met by the housekeeper who was very helpful and welcoming, with lots of local knowledge. The villa is much more spacious than it looks on the listing and is immaculately clean and well stocked. The Coffee machine such a bonus and we also enjoyed a BBQ on the terrace one evening. The location was amazing and very close to waterfront and in the old town where the best cafes and restaurants are, but also a little set back from the business and noise so was nice and quiet. Parking was easy as we had hired a car and a perfect base for trips out of the city. The villa felt spacious and luxurious and sunsets on the terrace were spectacular.
