Moondance Cabin at Red River Gorge - Hot Tub

Welcome to Moondance Cabin, your new favorite cabin located just outside the Red River Gorge in Daniel Boone National Forest. This cabin was just built in 2021 and includes all the modern amenities of home, with a beautiful view included. This cabin features an open and bright kitchen and living room, with vaulted ceiling and large windows showing off the expansive valley. The living room also has a gas fireplace, cozy couch and love seat and plenty of additional seating. There are 2 bedrooms, one offers a king-size bed, and the other bedroom includes a queen-size bed, and a bunk bed with two queen sized beds.
This layout offers privacy for couples and plenty of space for families. You will never get bored when you are staying at Moondance cabin! This cabin offers cornhole, horseshoes, and a fire pit for smores. For rainy days, there are plenty of board games, puzzles, cards, and all the streaming services you can watch.
The back deck area is completely covered and has an outdoor dining area with seating for 6. The hot tub overlooks the valley and offers a wonderful view of the valley. The screened-in porch is the perfect place to relax and read or enjoy your morning coffee. Bring your favorite steak to grill on the outdoor charcoal grill and enjoy dinner al fresco on the lower deck while watching an exciting cornhole match.
Moondance cabin is located outside Frenchburg, Kentucky, in the Indian Creek resort, just a short, beautiful drive from Red River Gorge hiking trails, Natural Bridge State Park, and Cave Run Lake. Note - Ring doorbell/cam on the exterior front door.

  • This is sky bridge. The most massive arch in Red River. it spans over a hundred feet and about 50 feet in the air. Probably the most famous arch in Red River, it has been seen in movies. Many astro-photographers flock here because of it's structure and clear skyline. If you get a chance, the trail is only .8 miles and very much worth it. You first walk across the top of the arch, it is so big that you are halfway across before you notice your not just on a narrow rock path. then you circle around to be under the arch.

Wish there were stairs leading from the upstairs patio to downstairs for easier acess to the swing. Hot tub could have been hotter. Minor cleaning needed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

The cabin was beautiful, fully stocked. We had a wonderful time we stayed for three nights. Brad our host was great, prior to our arrival he sent information regarding places to get groceries, information on things to do in the area and also a number for a local gentleman who will drop off fire wood for a very reasonable amount. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone.

We had a great time staying at Moondance Cabin and introducing our children to Red River Gorge! The property was a little far out, but that just made the stargazing even better. We really enjoyed the hot tub, cornhole and the fire pit. The house was just the right size for our family of 5. All the instructions and suggestions from our host were great. Highly recommend!

Immaculately clean home nestled in a remote area with a fabulous view of the autumn colors! Just close enough to RRG hikes and other activities. Perfect property layout and spacious cabin with many amenities including kitchen knives that are actually sharp (that almost never happens in a rental so I had to mention!) We will definitely be back!

Very clean and very nice. Beautiful spot in the woods. Gravel road was fine for the 4 runner. Take food with you there is an IGA in town with limited selection. It’s about 40 min to the park which was disappointing. Cabin was great it was quiet and peaceful. Wish it was closer to the park all and all would recommend. Wasn’t aware how few options there are on eating out and groceries. Might let people know that.

My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The area was absolutely beautiful. Our host was very responsive & the communications provided was thorough, which was very helpful. We found the cabin to be very clean & the layout was perfect for our family. We enjoyed all the extra offered having a fire, bags set and hottub were all enjoyed. The gorge underground kayak tour is a must, along with the sky bridge and Miguel's for pizza.

Relaxing vaca

Moondance cabin was exactly what our family needed for this vacation! Our family of 5 fit perfectly! The view was stunning, and the secludedness of the cabin made it relaxing and quiet. Brad was an excellent host. He answered all my questions, sent recommendations for the area, and sent thorough check in and out instructions. The cabin was stocked so well - from shampoo, to make up wipes, to paper towel, kitchen supplies, games and more. There was nothing we wanted for during our stay. The cabin was one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in. We would highly recommend Moondance for your next stay!

The only star I took away was for distance to the park & it's many attractions - still a 4-star. That's part of what you want, seclusion & great views. The roads are windy & tight, making drive time easily 45 minutes to some of the main attractions but the drive is BEAUTIFUL & there are many sites to look at along the way. Overall, the cabin was perfect to spend time in - the hot tub, the porches & views, the corn hole boards... the kitchen allowed us to cook home cooked meals & the living areas were relaxing.
