Property was exactly as described. Check-in was the easiest I've ever experienced. Everything worked and was very a great option for staying very close to Jones Beach.

Convenient location, bit dated but clean. Very steep stairs to 2nd floor and limited amount of bath towels provided. Not much for kitchen utensils if you plan to cook meals. Good value for Long Island.

Good place

Its not perfect of course, but me and my friends really enjoyed it. Its close to the beach which we loved, alot of good food place close by. The house itself was decent. It was a beautiful home with a big backyard and nice size family room, but i will say bring your own pillows and blankets because they definitely didnt clean the ones they already had on the beds and the pillows were very thin like worn out. Besides that it was 8/10 experience and i will definitely come back.

Looks can be deceiving

The online photos were deceiving. The pics online look much better than property in person. We attempted to get an early check in but that was unsuccessful. The propertys wifi was out for an entire dayl.

Was super surprised just how nice this house was. It was tastefully decorated with many antiques and live plants which gave it a very homey feel. The whole house has been updated and the kitchen was generously furnished. The roku TV offered our favorite channels. Possibly, the only negative is it's location is in the middle of nowhere on a 2-lane dirt road. But, even that had positives. The countryside was beautiful and there was a restuarant/green house/party store just a mile down the road. There was a humming bird that frequented the flowers below the front window! The host was very nice and patient when we called him because we kept messing up the code to get in. This was one of the nicest houses we have ever rented.
Tastefully decorated with old style dinner ware.
Flowers in front attracted hummingbirds.
Beautiful kitchen fully stocked with cooking/baking ware

This old house

Very old and outdated house. 2 rooms with closets, 2 didn't. Nice kitchen with microwave, toaster oven and big fridge which didn't work. Old and noisy heat water/radiator system. Bathrooms small but very outdated. Good wifi. Driveway fit two cars. Place was clean, but very basic.

Where's the Charm?On the plus side, the property was chosen because of its location and it's ability to house 8 people. It was also reasonably price for our 6 day stay. On the negative side, the beds were terrible (including the linens). The showers were not very clean and difficult to get into/out of; and as a result, a bit dangerous. The kitchen was ok and the refrigerator clean. But the cabinets were not, and there wasn't any place to serve a meal. The bedrooms lacked any dressers, and some didn't have closets, and there was little by way of places to hang things. We were in town for a family memorial gathering, so we wanted to be close and we managed. We recognize that the home was over 125 years old (hence "charming"), but the place could have been much more tolerable with greater attention to cleanliness, bedding, and some dressers.Thanks.

Not like a Hotel

There isn't a closet in the main bedroom downstars or anything to hang your clothes on or dresser to store your clthes. had to live out of our suitcases. Two of the upstars bedrooms had a closet. The upstars bathroom the toilet is cramped. Reported to the manager that some windows could not be secured. Other deffieciencies were reported. No washer or dryer. Parking area was very spacious. The location is on a busey street. It is accessible to everything, if you know where to go. I lived in the area for three years while in highschool.

Very Disappointed. Don’t stay here

This is not what I expected. This place is horrible. It sos dirty and unsanitary. the smoke alarm battery still needs to be replaced. We contacted the property manager and it beeped for 3 straight days and was never fixed!!The bathroom on the first floor the mirror is so high a normal human can’t use it. The kitchen floor is filthy and tiles are displaced. Broken windows in the foyerThe bathrooms are disgusting. See photos of what this place really looks like!! Don’t be fooled. Don’t stay here.

Misleading and NOT Charming

Pictures are not accurate at all. Appears as though the pictures are very old. Paint stripped on walls and railings, tiles broken throughout house. Overall , the is in disrepair. No toilet paper, upstairs toilet was broken, house smelled. Dead cockroach outside the bathroom after first night. Neighbor deals in drugs. House should be sold to someone who is going to care for the property and take care of it. Our stay was work related. We worked a bunch of overtime to leave early due to the conditions of our accomodations.

Awful place

Almost everything in the listing is untrue. Not charming! No dishwasher! No blender! No glassware! Hardly any cutlery (2 forks, c'mon). No bakeware or food prep items! No light fixtures in some rooms, just bare bulbs hanging down. No lamps or end tables! Toilet paper like tracing paper and despite that, toilet clogged and a plumber was sent in a timely way. No railings on front or side steps. Anyone with mobility issues should stay away. VRBO stop listing this property. TVs were great!

DO NOT STAY HERE

This property is a complete bogus listing. It is not charming. All the surfaces in the house are sticky---floors, counters, bannister, etc. There were bugs. Broken light switch. Paper curtain on doorway. No mattress pads. Torn screen. Uneven floors. Rusted range hood. The neighborhood is bad. Next door home piled with garbage in the yard and driveway blowing through the neighborhood. Seeking a full refund. Beware!

This home is not a vacation home. It is basically a party home, not many dishes, linens are below average, beds have mattresses on top of card board boxes over frames, kitchen floor tiles cracked, trash can in the kitchen, literally made me gag. We took the bag out and you could clearly smell something rotten with an empty bag thrown in the bottom with something spoiled and what looked like maggots. House is old and not taken care of. The neighbors are interesting. They park behind our car everytime we get home and when we aren't here. We have to go over and ask them to move every time. There is definitely drug sells and drug use happening. Late at night they park behind our car and sit in it playing loud music and do drugs. We woke up to beer bottles in the yard and picked them up. There was trash under the tan lounger in the living room. The floors need cleaned and bathroom linens need to be replaced. The wash cloths have stains on them. Cleaning supplies and trash bags just thrown under sink, clearly not used. There were a few small roaches that we found crawling in the drawers. It would have been helpful to have bug spray. I would never rent this home again. It is a typical flop house.

Pics Deceiving & House Needs Attention BADLY

Should've listened to the reviews but gave the homeowner the benefit of the doubt based on the pics listed. The property wasn't a safe environment, not conducive to anyone with mobility issues (even on the 1st floor). Only stayed 1 of 4 nights b/c we had no where else to go. The towel racks were falling down, parts of the home were filthy, stains on the pillows & all pillows were terribly lumpy, couldn't get air flow through A/C window units unless the sheer curtains were left open giving you zero privacy, broken door, no space to put any of our items except on the floor (including all bedrooms & all bathrooms), used & dirty kitchen sponge left for us to use, kitchen drawers were messy & gross, oven hood was rusted & sticky, uneven flooring that was also slippery with socks, stairs were ridiculously steep for anyone (even without mobility issues), & so many other things that made this stay unbearable and miserable. If this homeowner is going to use this house as a business, I strongly suggest for them to take all these awful reviews into account. The fact that they couldn't even buy a new kitchen sponge is a reflection of this rental & all the issues that came along with it. Filed a complaint with the property management company "Evolve" who was completely incompetent. Fought for a refund & only got 50% back. Filed a complaint with the BBB over this company. If you're desperate or broke, take your chances. See all pictures attached to this review. Beyond Disappointed!

House was really beat up and not clean. Windows were broken and the beds and baths were disgusting. The bedding was brutal including felt zebra print and pillows and mattress that were scary when you took off the bedding. Basement had beer cans and random clothing all over the floor. The pics in the listing have to be from a long time ago. Does not represent the current state of the house. Very upsetting how bad it was. Also the neighborhood does not feel super safe. Loud music blasting from 11 am- 10 pm like full blown club happening.
Every vent was rusted missing or looked like this
Bathroom was a mess mirror was broken and lights missing from top staining all in tub and mats
